So Bri, let me get this straight, you and escobert are a fictional couple? lol

If we're including bromances, then I'd have to include Shawn & Gus from Psych

Frodo and Sam (The Lord of the Rings)

You know, if you guys are gonna do this stupid "bromance" crap then you might as well throw in God Damn Fred Flintstone and Braney Rubble in there since they have such a love-hate relationship together.

Fynn
01-31-2016, 06:22 AM
To be fair, that's not what a bromance is. A bromance is a term used to denote closeness between men, but with a definite "no homo" element to it. It's a pretty discredited term nowadays.

This is a slash pairing, and honestly, there's so many of them. I don't understand why people would have a problem with it - they're really close, they clearly love each other in one way or another, so what's the harm in interpreting it as romantic? Ship and let ship

The Fat Bioware Nerd
01-31-2016, 06:46 AM
Oh, so there was, say, a "Bro-mance" going on between the Adam West Batman and the Burt Ward Robin?

Fynn
01-31-2016, 06:51 AM
I have no idea, I've never seen the show. But if someone believes so and likes the idea enough to write fanfic about that - so what?

The Fat Bioware Nerd

I have no idea, I've never seen the show.

Unless, you don't like campy Batman, you have no excuse. The show has been on DVD and Blu-ray for two years.

I'm using couple merely in the 'pairing' sense of the word. I've included bromances, caring relationships and whatever else I feel like.

Josiah and Abigail Bartlett (The West Wing)
Woody and Buzz (Toy Story)
Buzz and Jessie (Toy Story 3)
John Creasy and Pita (Man on Fire)
Theodore and Samantha (Her)
Timon and Pumba (The Lion King)
Will and Sean (Good Will Hunting)
Andy and April (Parks and Rec)
Han and Leia (Star Wars)
Han and Chewie (Star Wars)

There's probably so many I'm forgetting so I'll keep adding as I think of them.

Not so much the whole being apart across time and space thing in the beginning, but being able to spend almost a normal life together at the end of their story.

*Bromance* Loius and Lestat, Armand (Interview With A Vampire)
Homer and Marge (The Simpsons)
Peter and Lois (Family Guy)
Scott and Ramona (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World)

Louis and Lestat have a very......complicated relationship. I guess bromance is kind of applicable but it's a bit of everything. Which is consistent with the series since sire/fledgling is a bizarre mix of emotions.

Here are the four which sprang immediately to mind, in no particular order.

Having written this list, it occurs to me that all of these are couples who managed to ultimately make things work despite crazy drama on all sides. What can I say, I believe in love against the odds, I'm a hopeless romantic.

Babylon 5, Delenn and Sheridan. I will love this pairing 5ever (see what I did there? Clever, ain't I?). They're very different from each other in quite a lot of ways, but they make it work and manage to stay together despite everything.

Farscape, Aeryn and Crichton. Yes, their relationship was crazy complicated (there was that whole business with the two Crichtons for one thing) and took a long time to get off the ground properly, but their lives were freakin' insane, so kudos to them.

Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, Phrynee and Jack. They're such a perfect fit. They took a long time beating around the bush, but got there in the end.

Princess Bride, Westley and Buttercup. Princess Bride is a timeless classic, and their kiss at the end makes me feel all gooey, every time. :3:

Xena and Gabrielle.

Xena and Gabrielle.

OMG yes! Them, too. And they ARE a couple, it's not a fandom ship. They just couldn't say so openly because the 90s was all homophobic and trout.

Xena and Gabrielle.

Dammit Carny, now youve got me off topic and thinking of "My name is Inago Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die"

(ahem) so Xena as in Warrior Princess? Lucy Lawless is a bit of a babe if memory serves......

Yes, Warrior Princess.

I always had more of a crush on Gabrielle, myself.

It's all about Callisto.

I have heard it's scientifically proven that, the crazier a woman is, the sexier she is.

And I'm not trying to be a misogynistic pig, I just like crazy female villains. Like Callisto.

I can't believe I forgot Sawyer and Juliet from Lost.

I smurfing hated the stupid Jack x Kate x Sawyer triangle and was smurfing glad to see it got eradicated with Sawyer just not giving a trout. It's so rare for a TV show to do this, I'm also so fully glad Sawyer didn't go back to Kate.

http://images4.fanpop.com/image/photos/16400000/Suliet-sawyer-and-juliet-16495250-500-232.gif

Also I cried my smurfing eyes out at their flash sideways.

Also, you know what else was awesome about them? She called him James. She freaking called him James HIS REAL NAME. And their relationship was built from a deep understanding of each other, not just lust like Sawyer and Kate URGH. KATE SUCKED.
