Will you be watching? Even if it's just for the ads. I'll be up to a ridiculous hour on Sunday night watching it (no work on Monday thankfully). I think the Panthers will win by 10, but just hope Denver don't get crushed again like they did two years ago. At least Tom Brady isn't winning again this year.

Yeah I'll watch. I hope the Panthers win. Boooo Denver.

The Denver defense is amazing, but by rights the Broncos have no business being in this game imo. I love me some Payton, but he is a shell of himself and it's going to be painful to watch Norman and Kuechly pick off all his horrible looking flutter-balls.

I'm hoping for a good game as well, but im saying it'll be Carolina by 3 touchdowns.

They're the home team, and I'm pulling for them, so I think you're right.

For the sake of an entertaining game I hope you're wrong.

Of course I will.

Since I'm in North Carolina, and the Panthers beat my Seahawks, and they are from the NFC, I will be rooting for Carolina.

Also Bubba, I'm pretty positive that Denver is the home team. They did choose to wear white jerseys though.

Colonel Angus

Yeah, Denver chose to wear white, despite being the home team. They're 1-1 in SBs wearing white, whereas they're 0-2 while wearing Orange.

charliepanayi
02-06-2016, 08:48 AM
They're 0-4 when wearing orange. And they got thrashed all four of those times. I guess they're glad they're in white this time!

something like 14 of 15 of the last Super Bowl winners have worn white.

I'd like to see either team win. There are players on both teams that I would love to see get a ring at the twilight of their carers. Manning on Denver and Tillman and Allen on Carolina.

I think you're dead on. Cam Newton is going to destroy them. However I am a Bronco's fan.

I don't envisage any problems for Carolina tonight. You never know, the Giants upset a few years ago was my favourite Super Bowl of all time.

Can't see a repeat though.

Lady Gaga didn't do a bad job. I don't like when they change the melody too much though.

America has the best national anthem by a country mile. I'm English through and through but it makes me feel proud to have an American heritage whenever I hear it.

Well I was expecting an interception on Denver's first drive so they're already exceeding my expectations. Peyton's passes still look so slow, but he is still one of the best game managers around I guess, and it showed with how wide open some of those routes were.

Bubba
02-07-2016, 11:57 PM
Bit of a wild throw from Cam on second down. Guy was wide open.

Probably just a tad nervous. Good throw on third down. Advantage Denver so far though.

I keep seeing faces from NFL: A Bad Lip Reading and I can't take this Super Bowl seriously.

Carolina will still win this, I think. Once Cam settles, they'll be too strong.

Cam has settled. Ridiculous jump by Stewart. Panthers will be ahead by halftime. They'll run away with it in the second half.

Pheesh
02-08-2016, 12:41 AM
I think Carolina's sub-par receivers combined with the Broncos pass rush and pass coverage might keep it close. But at the end of the day the Panthers basically have Calvin Johnson playing quarter back for them, and there is no way you can stop him from running it all game long.

The bigger surprise for me has been Carolina's defense. I was expecting much much more.

Bad mistake by Carolina special teams, that should have been no gain or even a fumble with how bold that guy was not calling for the fair catch.

I still feel like Peyton is finishing this game with 2 INTs despite what I said about the Carolina defense. Comparing his throws to Cam's cannon arm is just crazy. I can't see this game ending without a pickoff for Norman and Kuechly each.

I'm impressed with the way in which American football is catching on in the U.K. I can't profess any great love for the sport myself, but I know several friends who follow it. One of them attempted to give me a basic rundown on plays, conversions, different positions, etc. It was much to take in.

Bubba
02-08-2016, 01:24 AM
Don't try to understand it, Formy.

Do what I do and pay attention to the back of the jerseys. That way, when I post in this thread I sound like I know what I'm talking about.

Now grow up in Canada where it's the same game but the rules and field size change Formy. It can be a lot to take in at first.

charliepanayi

Denver in trouble? It's Carolina who are running out of time here, and showing no sign they can get the TD. Of course it only takes one moment.

FFNut
02-08-2016, 02:57 AM
Denver has no offence. Carolina has shown they are trying to move the ball. So far it's been Denvers D that has kept them anyplace close in this game. Carolina is one score from the win.

charliepanayi
02-08-2016, 02:59 AM
Denver may not need an offense at this rate.

EDIT: See what I mean?

Gold star for Denver defence and Denver special teams. Bag of spiders for everyone else. Carolina just couldn't respond to that defence. More fool me for ignoring the adage 'defence wins championships'. It's true over here in football, and it's true in NFL.

FFNut
02-08-2016, 03:11 AM
That last play probably gave it to Denver not impossible for Carolina now, but it's a two score game with 3:00 left.

Not being a big fan of either team. I've really enjoyed this game. Lots of turnovers. Lots of sacks. A couple decently big plays. It wasn't how I expected the game to go, but I'm okay with that. Carolina is playing Denver just like they did Atlanta. Surprisingly mediocre. Offensive wise, anyways.

Great game. Great game.

Pheesh
02-08-2016, 03:22 AM
Assuming this plays out the way we expect it's very cool for Peyton and hats off to the Denver pass rush and coverage, but my god was this game dull. I honestly can't remember a single thing the Denver offense did except for a few good runs.

I also have have to scratch my head at how wrong my predictions were for this game, but just a bizarre combination of no red zone offense and a ridiculous number of fumbles completely halted a Carolina offense that I thought would have the edge. Priority number one has got to be getting Cam a proper receiver in the offseason.

Everyone here just supports the Bills, so they're essentially Toronto's team.

God damn it would be something to have an NFL team, though. People here went CRAZY during the Blue Jays play-off run. I don't even really care about baseball and thinking about it is making my heart swell. The city was electric.

I'm fine with the idea of just combining the leagues. They'd need to add months to the calendar just to squeeze in the extended season, but......whatever. I don't even like baseball, I just like the idea of the baseball season dragging on and on.

Also, WFT Carolina?

I was fine with the Clemson/Alabama results. The Tigers played well, and gave a good game.

This was supposed to be my win. :colbert:
