I like Jimi Hendrix a lot. I don't know much about being a guitarist and skill level but when I hear his riffs it makes my panties want to drop so I think he did a good job.

Also a big fan of Mick Ronson's work.

These are the ones I've heard of from the list so far, lets see: Jimmy Page is from Led Zeppelin, Billy Corgan is from Smashing Pumpkins, Jimi Hendrix is Jimi Hendrix of course and am I right in thinking David Gilmour was in Pink Floyd?

And I know I'm probably blanking on some of my other favourites too. But you guys know a lot of guitarists I dont. Just goes to show that despite all I know about music theres still so much I dont know after all these years.

I love Dave Mustaine. He's not the best guitarist of all time or anything - hell, he's not even the best guitarist in Megadeth - but I like him as a person, find him a great lyricist and Megadeth are awesome.

Also wanna give props to Jeff Hanneman of Slayer and Dimebag Darrell of Pantera. RIP to both of them, they were giants of heavy metal justas much as Dave.

Most of my favorites have been mentioned but one who hasn't is Jerry Cantrell. I prefer the older stuff, and I'm not really a fan of the newer AIC.
