Today is the anniversary of Star Ocean IV: The Last Hope! Not the most popular game among many fans, I actually like it this game quite a bit and prefer it to any other Star Ocean game I've played. So what are your favourite things about this game? If you hate it, can you find something you enjoy about it? Let's take some time to appreciate Star Ocean IV on its anniversary!

Mt favourite thing about it was the gameplay. It was tons of fun and there were a lot of characters with different play styles to suit different needs. I enjoyed Reimi the most as I am a huge archer fan and she's, in my opinion, the most fun archer to use gameplay wise. There were also some very beautiful locations!

For once I won't hate on the game. I give Edge cap even at the slightest mention in passing. I am glad the game exists and that people enjoy it. It came out during a JRPG drought on a system that never really got that many to begin with. I liked a few of the mechanics. The plot and characters were simple and campy but not bad. Except Edge. But everyone else was alright. It was also surprisingly colorful for what it was. And combat, while still not as engaging as I'm sure they wanted it to be it was fun and kept you on your toes from time to time

Still haven't got around to it. I have the game sitting somewhere on my PS3 library shelf but it's been a low priority. I've sadly come to the realization in the last few years, that I'm not as big of a Star Ocean fan as I first thought and SO2 is like the only good one I've played.
