Yuna
Cure
Yuna Regains 20HP at the cost of 20 points from her MAGD stat


Cloud
Braver
Cloud enters a Default state a skips his current turn in order to do 2x damage on his next turn, regardless of whether his attack deals damage to his opponent or himself.


Lightning
Returns
Lighting returns half of the damage done to her on her opponent’s last move at the cost of 20 points from her STR stat.


Ashe
Aero
Ashe casts a damage over time attack that does -10 HP damage to the opponent at the end of their every turn. Cost of Aero is 20 MAG.


Firion
Shield Bash
Firion blocks the damage from the next stat choice used by his opponent.


Laguna
Scatter Shot
Laguna takes -10 points from his opponent’s stats at the cost of 20 points from his SPD stat.


Rinoa
Angel Wings
Before a match begins Rinoa can rearrange her stats by a factor of -20 (i.e. she may take 20 points from any of her own stats and add it to another stat). She may only reduce her stats by 20, but she can add those 20 points to any stat of her choosing (-20 from STR, SPD and MAG for a gain of +60 to MAGD). These changes must be PM’ed to an adjudicator before a battle begins.

Haste
Can use one consumable item and still make a stat choice in one turn.



IMPORTANT - If you are using an ability which relates directly to a stat on the board, you must have that stat in play to be able to access it. ie - Yuna can not use Cure if she has already played her MAGD stat.

IMPORTANT - Abilities use up one turn, so a stat or item can not be played in that turn unless otherwise stated. They can only be used once per battle.

Not always! As of course removing from stats to others can severely weaken you in many areas - even if you are really strong in one. It's all about knowing how to balance. If you look at the Rinoa stats you'll see that she has 80 across the board, so she needs to be able to move them around a little!

Rinoa is a very balanced character, but can become really strong in one area if she plays her cards right. I'm still finding it hilarious that Ashe has the highest defence among all of us.

Firion's shield bash sounds useful, but Zack's haste can combo really well with a good stat choice.

Night Fury and I had a really close practice match with Ashe and a Villain and her ability did juuust enough to win the match for her. It is indeed a great ability.

Aero does indeed sound good. Guaranteed damage each turn? Sounds great, and you can do other moves as well while it is in action.

Hold up: is Aero -10 EVERY turn, or just -10 at the beginning of the opposing character's turn?

Also, double-checking:

If someone uses the MAG stat before I have a chance to use Aero, I can't use it, right?

But me using it doesn't cancel the MAG stat (meaning that my ability really isn't a good one to use against high MAG opponents, as I'd weaken the trout out of myself).

Correct on all accounts Jinx. And yeah, I think Aero works the way poison does in Pokemon, every time your opponent takes a turn they will lose 10 HP (is that even how Poison works? xD). But they do not lose 10 HP on your turns.

It's probably best to use Aero as your first turn, Jinx. This reduces the chance the opponent will use MAG instead of you, and also maximises the damage they will take (especially so if they use abilities or items alongside stats).

Agreed. But I'll have to be careful that the other team doesn't cotton on too soon always use MAG first. Also, if I'm fighting against a character with a mega MAG stat, it might not pay off to use Aero. The extra hit might not be worth it (also depending on what their special ability is).

Although if you have a consumable item that raises MAG it'd probably be in your favor to start off using that so people will feel intimidated and not use MAG against you, before you then use Aero and they realize you've just been covering your weakness =P Something like that.

If we use abilities that lower stats do they remain lowered forever or just for the fight.

You also clarified that I can't use my ability after I've used the stat it relates to.

Correct. If you or your opponent has used the STR stat you will be unable to use RETURNS.
