I figured we might as well try this without being moderated, just to see if we have a firm grasp on the rules.

Like before, both of us will start the battle with a Hi-Potion. The first turn will go to Galuf.

Our Speed stats are equal, so no damage is dealt.

(But damn it, now I can't use my ability anymore =P)

Hmm, I'll go with MAGD.

If you want to use Braver you can't use a stat this turn :) You will do double damage on your next turn.

Wham! 40 damage to me.

Cloud - 170 HP
Laguna - 160 HP

I use my Hi-Potion to recover 20 HP!

Hmm, that puts us at 190 (you) and 180 (me) respectively...

I use MAG.

So if I got this right, we went SPD, then MDF, then STR and now MAG, that means the match ends with this.

yep. and i think you winned :)

EDIT: NO IT WAS A TIE!!! lol heroes cant kill each other it seems xD

I think it puts us at a tie, since my MAG is only 10 higher than yours, making it end with 180 to 180.

I'm noticing it's apparently rather crippling to have your ability taken from you before you can use it =P

Well done guys! Yeah, abilities can really turn the tide of battle, but in a real fight your opponent won't know what stat your ability is tied to so it will be up to luck whether they knock it out before you get to use it.

One thing I'll add is that if anyone wants to try play a practice game without looking at their opponents stats they could post something like this "I attack with *x number* MAG" as opposed to "I attack with MAG". The latter means your opponent has to look at your stat card in order to find out how much damage you did whereas the former means they can keep your stats hidden and simulate a more realistic fight.

Unless you guys have just memorised everything already ;)

That sounds like a good idea.

I was also a bit worried that it'd become deterministic since you gain knowledge of 4 out of 5 of your opponent's stats in any given battle, but I think I just won't make the effort to keep track just to have it be more exciting =P

Level up? Awesome! Can't wait when we all have 9999 HP and 255 stats in all areas. :D
