Always gonna be John. His songs and personal struggles always hit home with me.

Ringo.

Haha, just kidding. John.

Based on post-Beatles solo career, definitely George Harrison. Mainly because of 'Got My Mind Set On You'. I really like that song.

In terms of time in the Beatles, I don't really have a preference. They all had a role to play. Apart from Ringo, who brought smurf all to the group.

Leave Ringo alone ya jerks.

Probably George, with John as a very close second.

At the time The Beatles split, George was actually writing the best stuff. He had songs like Something, Here Comes the Sun & While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Then when he left he released All Things Must Pass and there were some cracking songs on there.

John still wins overall though.

I paid attention to anyone who gave me a serious answer and mentally edited out the rest.

Useful skill to practice. Obviously, the only sensible suggestion on here was "The Walrus". :p

Out of interest, why is George Harrison your favourite? He's my favourite too, like I said above, so I'm interested to find out what your reasons for liking him the best are.

"While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is one of my all-time favorite songs, hence why George narrowly beats out John for me.

It would be interesting to see a poll on this thread. I honestly don't think it's up for debate that Lennon and McCartney were both genius songwriters. I think George Harrison was a great songwriter who was clearly influenced by the stuff the other two were writing.

I suppose this thread is about your favourite one though. George (or possibly Ringo) is the most likeable of the four.

Out of interest, why is George Harrison your favourite? He's my favourite too, like I said above, so I'm interested to find out what your reasons for liking him the best are.

The following reasons (thanks for asking :-) )

-Great songs like 'Here Comes the Sun' and of course 'Ive Got my Mind set on you' is a classic
-His love of eastern culture over western culture (dunno how he reconciled all the money, but still....)
-His introverted character (had is own private space he liked to escape to)
-He truly loved his friends Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Ringo Starr etc...
-He saw the perils of the western world and spoke out against it
-He wanted peace
-He could play the sitar
-Carried Ukes around with him....just in case someone else wanted to play one :-)
-He was physically cute
-He had the depth of an ocean and more, I see it in those eyes
-He found his soulmate in Olivia
-He sent pun filled emails to his friends, mere days before he died

I'm not a huge Beatles fan - my Dad was though. I wouldn't say I have a personal favourite - when I was a kid it was Ringo and I used to tell off my Dad because he bought everyone else's solo work except for Ringo's. xD I would find a debate over the best member of Yes more interesting.

EDIT: Midgar Mist, here's one to add to your list:

-He bought Ringo a drum set when Ringo was threatening to leave during the White Album sessions.

So many George lovers, expected more of you to go for John (he is a close second for me too SammieBabe)

And yes, thanks for reminding me of more good things George did.

Here's another:

He helped finance Life of Brian for Monty Python, after they developed a cash flow problem.
