It's one of Netflix's best original series. The cast is brilliantly diverse and ranges from a Korean woman, a Kenyan man, an Icelandic woman, an American man, an Indian woman, a Mexican man, an American trans woman, and a German man, each in their own respective parts of the world and the story is about how and why they all suddenly become interconnected. Lost fans might appreciate appearances by Naveen Andrews.

Me and Formy are on episode three too! Right after I posted before, I actually persuaded Formy to watch it with me, and he's hooked. I'd forgotten how good-looking the main cast is. I know TV often has a higher percentage of attractive people than in real life, but DAMN.

I like ze German because he's got the troubled guy thing going on.

I forget where I read this, but I read that if you can make it to ep three you will absolutely get hooked. I really like getting to know all of the characters. It feels like a smaller and more manageable Game of Thrones without all the betrayal and death.

I left it at episode 2 for the night. My favourite is Kala! And Freema's accent is diabolical.

Me and Mr. Carny starting watching this today. He's already seen it a year ago. I have to say, I'm very impressed with the story so far, I love following these people and their individual story arcs. We're at episode three, like he said, here's my thoughts on them:



- Will: Gets an establishing moment of awesome from me by saving that kid. He seems very nice and dependable, and he seems to be the most important member of the group so far along with Riley. They've got the most screentime, anyway. Not a clue what

- Riley: I get the feeling she'll be the main damsel. Her life has gone upside down very fast. Her and Will seem to connect quite a lot, and I'm excited what'll happen next.

- Nomi: I resonate with her and what she's going through; you can definitely see the Wachowski influence here, and her story has been brilliantly done so far. I hope she escapes from hospital soon.

- Wolfgang: He seems the most morally dubious character of the bunch, but I've a softspot for him and his love of rubbish talent shows.

- Lito: Very interested to see how his arc will pan out, and I expect rocky times ahead. His story seems to be more light-hearted than the others, which makes for a nice breather. As Mr. Carny says; he and his boyfriend aren't bad looking.

- Sun: I've connected with her the least, if I'm honest. She's had the least time on screen so far, and I'm not really sure where her business arc is going. Still, I loved the end of episode three with her kicking ass.

- Capheus: Didn't get much screentime until episode three, but he got a big dose, and I love his plucky entrepreneur-ship. Again, the last moments of episode 3 were awesome.

- Kala: I like her. The man she's marrying seems lovely, but she just doesn't love him. It's a tough one, but compared to Nomi or Riley's stories so far, she's got the easier of it currently.

Riley is my favorite, but I have an admiration for all the ladies. I would say Kala is my next favorite. I really like Gorski, but I think ze German's story is more interesting. Every time I see Capheus on screen I just smile because he's so smiley and so positive despite his circumstances probably being the most poor/dire of anyone else in the group.

I have a problem with Daniela and how forcefully she inserted herself into Lito's apartment to try to have sex with him despite his polite and desperate decline to her offer many times. If a man did that in a show to a woman, he would very clearly be portrayed in a villainous light. She tried to rip his robe off, for christ's sake. It bothers me that because she's a tiny little gorgeous woman that there are no accountability to her behavior. #consent

Also, her excitement about being Lito's beard also bothers me because yeah, what is she getting out of this? "I think gay porn is so hot. I pissed off a former boyfriend of mine who is a person people don't say no to. My father is druglord. I'm also not used to men saying no to me. The other girls in the movie we are filming are sluts who can't act." I don't know. Her whole attitude just rubs me the wrong way.

But yes, Hernando is gorgeous.

It's definitely played for laughs, but yeah, it is unsettling for exactly the reasons you outline. It's a shame, because by all accounts she seems nice, even if she has no clue what personal space is. If she was a man, this would definitely be portrayed as different.

Hernando and Lito are very cute. I like Hernando because of the glasses, really. I still find it weird that they'd allow her to watch them have sex, but each to their own, I guess. His arc is definitely the lightest of them so far, probably because he's hardly interacted with the other characters yet.

I really need to get back to this. I watched the first two or three episodes back when the series premiered but got distracted by other things.

Me and Formy have finished season one! I wonder when they'll stick up the next one. We both really enjoyed it. Just finished the last episode. We reflected on how different characters have had to deal with different levels of trout in their past lives, from middle-class bubble Kala who seems to have lead a pretty uneventful life, to terrible tragedies like Riley in the mountains.

Plus, speaking of Kala get your trout together, woman! Just tell him you don't want to marry him, because you don't love him. Joking aside, I can understand how it might be difficult to crush such a nice man's dreams. He seems really kind and considerate. Plus handsome. He's practically perfect, really.

Just finished the first season. My thoughts:

Was really disappointed with the last episode. It built up to something awesome and the last episode was meh. Also, shouldn't glasses doctor STILL be able to find Will? Also, how exactly does that work? It's never really explained.

Also, Sun best character. Although, I don't dislike any of the main cast. Lito is probably my least favorite of the bunch. But when he was experiencing Sun's period ahahaha, that was the best.

I really really like Sens8, interesting premise, great characters, really hot sex, A+ show tbh.

I really, really love Sense8! The Wachowskis really redeemed themselves with this after the trash that was Jupiter Ascending, imo. I was so happy when they announced a second season was going ahead, I'm super stoked to see it and can't wait!

Well, it's over.

I'm torn on this episode. I thought it was good, but it was understandably rushed and the pacing was so bizarre. I get that it's not really their fault. But I just kept getting more and more angry that we didn't get the seasons we deserved. Or at least one full season to lay things out better. I'm just bitter that such an amazing series was done such little justice.

It's better than nothing, but the fans of the show--the people who were deeply impacted and touched by the story--really were entitled to more than this.
