I'm in the closed beta currently. I was on the fence on this team shooter but after playing it a bit, I am a convert. I haven't had this much fun with a game in a long while. I get a rush! BF keeps making fun of my deep breathing because i'm so focused on it, my hearts beating and i'm going EEP a lot! I'm not that great but I have a lot of fun.

Yesterday they released a short about one of the characters, Winston.

The actual game comes out 5/24/16 on PS4, PC, and XBOX ONE. If you preorder you can get into the Open Beta early on May 9th.

Personally my favorite characters to play are Tracer, Mercy, and Reinhardt. A lot of people don't like to play the support roles or the tank roles but often times they are important! Many go in trying to play it like it's a single player game and they're billy badasses but I've had the most successful games when the teams were balanced well and people actually used the voice chat. It's fun and I highly recommend it.

I was in the alpha (I think?) for this and played it (and streamed it) for a while. It seems like a fun shooter but honestly shooters have never really been my thing (with rare, rare exceptions like Halo and Goldeneye 007.) Nothing against Overwatch of course, I just can't get into it same as I could never get into TF2.

I'll probably eventually buy it and then not play it, because lord knows I'm addicted to giving Blizzard money

OH I just looked into it. No cross platform play :( Apparently PC tends to beat out consoles merely for reaction times of mouse and keyboard vs controller. So most FPS don't do cross platform for that reason.

I'm actually not playing huge amounts of it at the moment, I played loads before the first progression reset and now I only really play on and off as I don't want to get burnt out before release (I've already noticed myself getting a bit elitist with it and annoyed at some of the stuff people do in solo-Q).

When I do play, I've actually been playing Reaper a fair amount lately. I used to pretty much exclusively play Mercy or Winston, and to a lesser extent, Lucio. But lately I've been having fun on Reaper, especially on Defense - just flanking and picking off the DPS/Snipers before the Tank/Support can react. Mercy is still my overall favourite though, and it's great that healing is now something a medal can be earned for on the end of game scorecard screen.

I've recently set myself a challenge to get a Play of the Game as every hero. Right now I think I'm up to 7 out of 21 xD

Once you know a heroes moves i suggest just jumping into quick play. Trial by fire and all that. You'll actually learn a lot from seeing what other people are doing as different characters.

I'm digging this game more than probably any multiplayer experience I've ever had, sans MMORPG's.

Lúcio, 76, Mei, D.Va, and Symmetra are my best characters. Symmetra is just too much fun.

Seconded that Symmetra is fun. I played as her a lot last night and found it really addicting to run the ahead of the map placing the turrets ready to annoy the other team hehehehe :D

Yeah I found her surprisingly easy to use once I was able to set up good angles for her turrets. She's rarely a flashy character to use but I just love the feeling of watching a team get stalled by my Hex of Death. Especially on payload maps!! :D

I usually use D.Va as a tank, especially vs AI because it's just easy and they travel in groups that make easy self-destruct kills.

Ahhh trying to do some actual training atm and keep getting lumped into the same party as these people who are like 'lel lets go all bastion' so I get to do nothing pretty much while they just destroy the enemies.

They're insisting on just spending their time camping in front of spawn points during A.I games as if it teaches any skill or takes any.

Junkrat is my boy. Dude is fucking vicious once you get him down. I good drop of Rip Tire can kill ANY hero in overwatch. I try to drop from above where people dont' see it coming.

Been getting the hang of tracer, the only attack hero I seem to like that much, and Roadhog is a hell of a Tank when you get him down.

I'm also digging Ana now that I"m trying her out. I've been trying to convince everyone she needs a Carmen Sandiego theme skin.

I second the Carmen Sandiego skin idea. And a well played Junkrat is indeed a dps machine. Have not been able to get the hang of Tracer though. I'm too aggressive for someone so fragile. Roadhog is probably my favourite tank though. That pull can be game changing.

One of my favorite Junkrat moments was Pharah was directly overhead and activated Barrage, but didn't notice me. Aim straight up, killed her with Grenades while she was mid air.

I also once rolled a Rip Tire off a Roof and caught a flying Pharah with it.

Fuck that noise that Pharah is hard to deal with as Junkrat!


...Okay normally she's a pain in the ass, but it's fun to catch her off like that. :p
