Seriously, what is Bioware's deal with hair? In all the Bioware games I've played, the hair is always the least convincing-looking part of the character models.

Yet I prefer hair over a helmet in a BioWare game.

If the ones you've played are mostly unreal engine 3 games like mass effect them that's basically why.

The facial hair in DA:O in particularly is extraordinarily glaring. I actually liked my character's hair just fine because I got to carefully select the least-bad. A lot of companions are fine, too.

Vivienne is uniquely annoying to me hair-wise because her model is clearly "designed" to have her helmet on, but like everyone else it's removed for all cutscenes. And the bald look isn't that great.

Actually, I think she really pulls off the bald look.

For me, it's the length of hair that is lacking. In Dragon Age: Inquisition, the hair choices don't really flow beyond the shoulders.

Very few games do hair well in my opinion. But I agree it does seem particularly lacking compared to everything else in Bioware's PS3/360 era games.

The hair in Dragon Age Inquisition wouldn't be bad if it wasn't so shiny. The shine makes it look like it's made of metal at some points, especially on mustaches.

You know who has the best hair though?

DA:O Alistair.

That weird spiky wave thing.

It's so amazing.

I mean, not every company can make a Luna wig and use like a septillion polygons to render it

It's less about how the hair looks and more about the hair styles. There's five or six different variations of 'shaved', for example. This is fantasy, not a military barbers.

I know PC modding has added in more hair styles, but alas, consoles don't get that luxury.
