Final Fantasy XV release & pre order dates, Ultimate Collector's Edition

Final Fantasy XV will be released worldwide on September 30, 2016. Pre-orders for the Deluxe and Ultimate Collector's Editions of the game will start at 9PM Pacific Time. The Ultimate Collector's Edition, which is a Square Enix Online Store Exclusive, will only be available to 30,000 worldwide. It will feature bonus content, such as the Royal Raiment outfit, the Masamune, and a Platinum Leviathan recolor for the car. There will be in game item packs (shown in the pic above. There's also a 192 page artbook, an exclusive Noctis figurine, and steelbook soundtracks as well as the game.

Just streamed it. Graphics at some point were nothing special. I mean - it is beautiful but games are in general able to be very beautiful these days. In the town the water I have seen which was totally blue looked disappointingly undetailed. Still, overall it looks very good and seems interesting. I definitely have to practive the combat more.

In game item packs? Hmm. DLC, I guess? Would be interested in finding out more about what these item packs really involve and how much they add to the game (or rather, take away from the game, given it's DLC...).

I'll probably get the Deluxe, download Brotherhood, and get the official guide book instead of the art book because I find them a lot more interesting than art books.

Yes the 30,000 copies of the Final Fantasy Ultimate Collector's Edition sold out in nearly 2h (11pm in Los Angeles).
The Square Enix website was, as expected, extremely difficult to log into and navigate.

We were all asking each others, on the Twitch chat after the event, if we got the email that confirms we actually ordered our UCE version, as the website was so laggy and delayed.

Only the UCE has 30,000 copies by the way, so there is no rush to buy a Deluxe Edition copy.
But as of now, some people are already reselling copies of the Ultimate Collector's Edition for more than twice its price (650-800 USD). Some copies were already sold at this price if you check.

Fun fact: 30,000 x 270$ = 8,100,000$
Knowing that the FFXIII's budget was hovering the 60,000,000$, this UCE version is a huge return on investment, in just 2h.

My guess is there will be more yet, one way or another. When demand is that high, you have to capitalise on it or face fanrage. Especially for digital item packages.

PS4 was sold out in 15 minutes. xD Xbox One copies were available for a whiiiiiiiiile by comparison though.

Also... I was one of the lucky ones. I was able to navigate the website extremely fast and easily. I was smart enough to log in and prepare before midnight (EST) though. xD

I just discovered the UK price. £189.99. xD Reminds me of that FFXIV CE price. I bet Australia has it even worse. Do statues really cost that much to make? It's the one thing I don't want to have to pay for. I wish there was an option for the Ultimate one without the statue.

I don't doubt it! I just long for the days when they make collector's edition a piecemeal thing where you can pay for what you want. I bet if you took the cost of the statue off and just put the other things, the price would be much more reasonable for a guy like myself to put his money into. I'd personally prefer to dump the artbook, too. I just want to experience the game with all the things. I'm hoping the item packages won't be too pricey... although, then again, idk if I'll buy them regardless. I always consider it and yet I don't think I've paid for DLC more than once or twice in my life.

I only pay for DLC for games which I really enjoy and which I'll replay. Game of the Year editions, which tend to include all the DLC, are amazing if you can get them.

I'm all for the environment, but I do miss instruction manuals. Some of them are really esoteric, with birthdays and everything!
