Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV CGI Movie Trailer

Square Enix is releasing a full-length CGI movie for Final Fantasy XV called Kingsglaive. Here is the trailer. It's English voice acting is going to be done by Game of Throne's Lena Headey as Luna, Sean Bean as King Regis, and Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul as the Knight Nyx. The movie will also be available on the Ultimate Collector's Edition, Streaming and Download as well.

Much like the upcoming anime series, Kingsglaive will give us much more background for the story.

The biggest problem with Spirits Within was just the words 'FINAL FANTASY' written on it. It was a decent movie in its own right, but didn't feel like part of the franchise at all.

Sean Bean seems to have laid off the whole dying thing lately (in Jupiter Ascending and The Martian anyway), hopefully he'll return to form here.

That Regis dies is no secret. It is already hinted at the end of Episode Duscae. It would have to be some false info.

They said Luna was dead at the end of the Duscae demo as well and we know that's false. It's all still up in the air, really, even if a lot of the elements suggest this so far.

How do we know that is false? Maybe at that point she is dead. Not that I think and hope that but still. Also Regis being dead/dying would make this whole successor thing more "realistc" by bringing it to the next level. Sort of like with Garnet and Ashe.

In the anime episode one you overhear on the radio that his father is dead and they think the royal family is dead but he's on his way to see luna.

I do not know what you mean with artwork. You can make artwork of characters that die.

As said, I hope that Luna is not dead. And yes, he mentions seeing Luna but I would not exclude especially Regis being dead except that is some sort of "trick of him wanting people to think he is dead" or so.

But seriously, I think the general fanbase is of the understanding that Luna is alive and Regis is dead at the start of FFXV at the moment, until told otherwise.

But we still don't really have any concrete evidence, so I still expect something more interesting to happen with it in-game. Maybe he's missing and we find out what horrific thing happened to him much later? There's a lot of potential with this

I hope to god that SE don't spoil ANYTHING about the game in this film! I've ordered the Deluxe Edition so the movie comes included which I will watch before I start playing and it will be a shame to have something spoiled after 10 years of waiting.

That said I'm really looking forward to it!

We might have flashback segments, of the relationship between Noctis and Regis. If he's dead chronologically at the start of FFXV, then that might likely.

Gotto admit I really liked the movie although i cannot figure out how that knightly dude is both general of the empire and leader of the glaive. Gotto have really good time management.
