Dude? Wheres my Land?

Does anyone know why in the latter stages of the game you cannot walk on foot from Fort Condor to Junon?

Where did that piece of land go? I mean I know it shouldn't bother me cause now I have an airship but.....how the hell does land disappear with no in game explanation?

Its an uber geek question I just had to get out of my system at least....

i think it was an area where a Weapon arose

Well.....from leaving the northern cave

Ultima flew around randomly (so it seems unlikely)
Ruby burrowed itself in the Gold Saucer desert
Emerald dived underwater
And Diamond arose from the sea in the north then headed to Midgar

That leaves.....Sapphire Weapon, although its not explicitly stated as such, it must have been that one. It approached Junon but nothing to specify that particular damage.

tbh, i think Sapphire Ruby and Emerald came from Mt Gaia.
Ultimate came from that wee village at the bottom.
Diamond came from the random waters.

so.... i really dont know.

Sephiroth might know though.

The river is flowing from the water filled crater where mountains and forests used to be.While there is no definite answer as to how the crater got there, I always assumed it was where Ultimate Weapon landed after launching from the Northern Crater.

It's the first place you find it when it becomes an optional battle.

Definitely where Ultimate weapon either came up from or landed.

Ultima Weapon was flying in the middle of that crater. Just as there is a crater underwater in Emerald's roaming zone.
