View Full Version : How Big Is Your Video Game Backlog?

So most of us here play video games. How long is your backlog? Do you even have one? Do you keep piling games on or are you good about not getting new games until you've finished the old ones?

I'm at about 110ish

My piggybank has less coins than my backlog count

I don't have one, mostly because world travel very much hinders one's ability to keep vast quantities of video games.

Now that I'm back in the UK, however, and thus have access to my PS2 again.... fuuuuuuu-

Last time I looked at my Steam account it was well over 300

If my incredibly nerdy Excel document is to be believed, I have around 300 uncompleted games. Not including the ones I have on Steam.

Neat.

I still have 180 to beat. I should probably get on that.

I prefer not to think of it as a backlog, but more a collection of treats for a rainy day.

Hundreds and hundreds of rainy days.

Well, mine may not be as big as those of other, but it's still pretty overwhelming to me.

I'd like to say I'm keeping it in check as it's only around 20-40 games, but it hasn't been getting any smaller since the beginning of last year.

bigger than my frontlog

About a 181 right now. Would probably be smaller if I wasn't being too literal in some cases. At that point it's probably closer to 150.

You people have a problem. I own like, 6 games I haven't yet played. And I think that's a lot!

How many games do you own in total?

I don't know, like 200? That includes games for old systems I just kind of hang onto. I tend to sell the ones I know I'll never play again, if they're worth something. Otherwise they go into a box. But I've played them all.

How many have you beaten? I include games I've played but not beaten (or put considerable amount of time in, if they are "unbeatable") in my backlog.

I'm just curious!

Sometimes I just quit games, but I have a few that I still want to continue. Nothing major, though. Mostly it depends on a buddy being available for co-op.

Backlog: Persona 3, Divinity: Or. Sins, CK II

CK II

Play this first!!!

Well, to be fair, I'm like 5 hours into Persona 3, should probably finish that first, right?

I've never understood the concept of a backlog. If I want to play a game I play it.

Virtually all of those. I'd trade in the ones I didn't like but I'm (un?)usually careful as to only buying games I plan to play fairly soon.

Well. That's awesome, congrats to you for keeping your backlog down!

Mine wouldn't be nearly so big but I've ended up with so much from Steam sales and humble bundles.

20-40. Makes me throw up a little bit to think of that and then FFXV, Uncharted 4, and Doom coming out this year.

At a rough guess, maybe 10? I don't own many games, and that figure is including games that I don't own yet but really want to play.

If we're counting only games that I possess now and haven't beaten, then it's closer to 3-4. Tales of Xillia... Beyond: Two Souls... FFT: War of the Lions... and Miles Edgeworth Investigations 2 (the fan-translation).

Not too big. I'd say less than 20 but more than 10.

Easily over 300; about 250~ on Steam, with around 70 on Gog.com, plus the handful of PC games that still aren't on either, plus I dunno, two or three dozen console games I still would want to complete someday.

It's simple, really. First, you take a lot of games that you find interesting, but haven't had time to finish yet. Then you call this a backlog, and then you have a backlog.

Del Murder

Oh, I thought it was only for games you actually own. Now this makes tons more sense.

We are in fact talking about games we own. I have hundreds of games I haven't played. I have most of them via bundles with other games and things like that. And some few that I've bought at big discounts knowing I'd want to play them at some point, but not having found the time yet.

Pheesh

About 90 on steam and maybe another 20-30 across all my other consoles. Honestly, some of them I may never get around to actually beating though.

Oh, I thought it was only for games you actually own. Now this makes tons more sense.

It is. I should have mentioned that. Games that i find interesting get released, or go on sale faster than I can complete them, and I'm never really short on money for buying new games so they keep stacking up.

I have probably 50 games on steam that I like, but haven't finished yet because they take some 50 hours to finish each, and that's just on one platform.

See, I don't have a big budget for games so, if I'm going to shell out money for a new release it had better be something I know I'll play a lot. Hell, that's true for any game really. If I know I'm not going to get 100+ hours from it, I probably wont buy it. But, I also very rarely buy new games.

almost none of the games in my backlog were bought at full retail price. most of them are from sales and bundles

If we include the sales and bundles, then my backlog might be slightly larger. Just slightly.

Yeah almost all of our backlogs are from ridiculous Steam Sales, Humble Bundles, and the like.

I mean, I have tons of games I could put on a backlog list, but many/most games I own I don't have any immediate interest in playing, so I don't count them. My list of games I own that I am actively interested in playing through is quite small, probably around ten-ish.

It's not the size of your backlog, it's the way that you play it that counts.

My backlog is HUGE. I get to work on it daily.
