With all the recent buzz around FFXV, it's easy to get lost among all the new info we keep getting. Here's one bit that stands out: Tabata has confirmed (http://www.novacrystallis.com/2016/04/tabata-talks-dlc-for-final-fantasy-xv-extra-story-being-considered/) that there will be DLC, and that it will be both free and paid. Apparently, with a game of this caliber and development costs, DLC will be necessary to earn back what was spent on the game.

But we already knew that DLC was coming. Not only is it an inevitability in today's gaming climate, but we have already heard the airship or moogles might be coming as DLC. This time around, while we still don't get any specific details on the content of the DLC, we get to know that Tabata is considering additional story scenarios.

How do you feel about new story missions as DLC? Do you think it should be paid or free? Do you feel like it's a good thing, or is it fake longevity and they should just move on to XVI? Let us know!

Paid DLC is fine as long as it is of a high quality and is worth the price. Some of my favourite experiences is with BioWare's DLC - the Citadel from ME: 3 being a particular highlight.

It isn't groundbreaking news, but free DLC is always welcome. I'd prefer good story DLC to a sequel, any day.

If it adds more story to the game, I'll buy it. That's DLC I can get behind.

If it's just FFXIII-2 DLC, in the form of disgusting character skins and pathetically bad short battles, then it isn't worth it to me.

FF13-2's DLC was offensive.

It was. Hopefully they learned from that.

Extra story DLC is the business model throughout the industry these days and I have no issue with it as long as a complete and satisfactory story comes with the main purchase.

Somebody tell this old lady from a mountain hut what DLC is.

I do however understand the term free, and since most new stuff in the gaming world is expensive I say enjoy the freebies!

Also, "free and paid". Too bad that doesn't mean anything else than what "paid DLC" means, or just "DLC" alone, which no one for a second didn't think would come.

Are we not at the point yet where we just call 'free DLC' an update?

Why don't they put the free DLC in the game as a optional unblockable ? Like how they did Vincent and Yuffie in the olden days of yore ? Don't honestly see the point.

Same with the paid DLC, but money makes the world go around, I guess. :roll2

Okay, kind of getting what it is now. Still don't know what the hell DLC stands for, but I'm guessing the meaning of it is somewhere in the ballpark of expansion packs. If I ever own this game (and due to financial constraints that's a big if) I will live quite happily with the main game. I feel like SE just wanna crank up the price even more than they used to. I want no part of this push and pull.

Because they wan't to release the game before they've finished it.

It stands for down-loadable content.
