One of the all-time great musicians, and only 57 :( His run of albums in the 80s was something special indeed. I'm listening to Purple Rain at the moment.

Yeah this was not the news I wanted to wake up to. While he could be a controlling jerk most of the time, the man was a steller musician in his prime. Rest in peace Prince.

Gutted.

Was only just singing/belting Purple Rain this morning when it came on the radio. I was speechless to read the news.

I never really got into Prince's music for whatever reason, but I know multiple people who absolutely adored him, and he certainly had a huge influence on the medium, and did a lot of things no one had done before in his prime.

Has anyone else changed their name into a symbol they made up yet?

Very troutty news to wake up to. Even if I only listened to some of his stuff, as a musician you have a special place for people who did something unique and influenced so many people in the process. RIP.

I just started getting into Prince a couple years ago. I was always entertained from him. Wish I could listen to some more music of his, but it's really hard finding his music online.
I did find this interview where he discussed that Chappelle Show skit.

I was shocked and very disappointed with the news. A real icon he was. R.I.P.

Didn't realize he was that old, but that's still too young to go.
