Most cringe-worthy scenes of the series

As much as I love Final Fantasy, some moments are downright uncomfortable or cheesy. Which are some scenes that are hard to watch because of second-hand embarrasment?

For me, Suteki da ne/the pond scene is probably the worst. So bad.

Also in FFX-2 Rikku shouting, "Key-mon!" it doesn't help that the artwork there is horrifying and she looks like a possessed doll.

I'm sure there are others, but that's all I've got at the moment.

As for the question, Suteki Da Ne didn't faze me so much. Honestly, the worst thing I remember from that game was any time Tidus was being thick and embarrassing himself. The many temple mis-steps are obvious examples.

Also, some of X-2's scenes are pretty cringy. Not just the bathing scene (though that's more mindboggingly funny than anything else). I'm talking about the 'WHO THE HECK IS LENNE!!!!' outburst. The reaction shots of the others paints a picture.

In VIII, when the crew thought Seifer had died, and they took a moment to honor him. Squall fears that one day he too would die in battle and his friends would do the same to him ("Speak of me in past tense"). At the end of their speech Squall suddenly had an outburst and made a scene. That was maybe the funniest part of VIII :lol:

In general the end of disc 1 is filled with so much cringe because of the immaturity of the the party members, which screws up the assassination plan. Fortunately though Edea is actually powerful and they wouldn't have succeeded in assassinating her anyway.

The good thing is that VIII isn't voice acted so replaying those scenes isn't really that embarrassing since everyone else in the room wouldn't hear anything.

"We're just pets" scene from FFXIII, also the entire dialogue between Lightning and Hope about why Snow is a bad man. The ending, starting with the the whole torture Fang and turn everyone into monster bit up until the credits finally roll.

Pretty much every story scene in X-2.

The scene where Tidus finally figures out what the Pilgrimage entails, if only because it was so bloody obvious throughout the whole game that I can't believe he was that stupid.

The dancing scene in Clerya, it was just so hokey it makes me laugh every time.

Squall throwing a five-year-old tantrum in the scene where the party discusses Seifer being dead. The concert part also felt really out of place in the game and is pretty cringe worthy even if you don't purposely screw with it.

Using the dolphin to get into Junon, most of Red XIII's scenes in Cosmo Canyon since it was so obvious where his story was going, Cloud's awful melodramatic speech to Sephiroth after Aerith is killed, the reveal that Cloud is not who he says he is, anything involving Yuffie.

Sabin's battle with Vargas, Madiun and Madonna's backstory, Kefka making the party doubt Celes, Celes' speech to Setzer in the Ruined World.

I have always hated that scene in FF10 when Rikku unzips some of her clothes near Guadosalam;
it's way too obvious that they tried to make it look sexual, and even though Rikku isn't exactly a "small kid" (15 years) she is still a bit too young to be sexualised like that, IMO.

It may not really matter since she is a fictional character etc, but she feels a lot like a living person.

I guess it's halfway between a facepalm and a cringe but when our brave FFIV heroes beat Golbez so bad that he's just a hand...and then proceed to stand there as the hand slowly goes over and steals the crystal.

You stopped 99% of the super powerful wizard with his magic and stuff but just his hand crawling or floating or whatever it was apparently thwarted them.
