Yay FFX in 4K. <3
I wonder if this version will include the original soundtrack like the PS4 version.

So I have to buy it a 6th time.
Will be interesting to see if the modding community shows any interest. A few graphics mods could work wonders on FFX.

I heard they messed up some of the faces in this remaster.

That's a matter of opinion. They did change them, though the only one that's really in your face noticeable without a side-by-side comparison is that of Tidus.

Personally I don't feel they're really any better or worse. They're just different.

Some people in this thread, obviously.
Well, I know I'm in the minority because I really think X is one of the weakest FF games out there, but I'm still happy for all y'all that have been waiting for this to come out on Steam! FFX is very popular and a lot of people who liked it don't have a PS3, PS4 or Vita to play the HD version until now, which they should, because the HD version has vastly improved music. The battle theme is finally bearable.

this is impressive. And makes me want to buy all the FFs available on Steam even if I already have multiple copies of most of them :shifty: A shame about the alphabetical order throwing off the numbered order, though. xD

If only FF IX didn't exist.

I don't understand why the system requirements for a hd remaster of a PS2 game is lower than a port of a PS1 game.

Poor optimization. Shit tier programming.
I don't understand why the system requirements for a hd remaster of a PS2 game is lower than a port of a PS1 game.
The same reason there are ports of seventh gen games with higher system requirements than 8th gen titles, and why half of all high profile PC ports these days are broken beyond belief while the console versions run fine on vastly inferior hardware. Depending on who's in charge, some developers/publishers are just lazy and don't give a crap about optimization and proper porting, so they just shove it onto Steam and hope no one will notice/care.
Although in Square Enix's case I think they simply don't know how to do it properly. Not one FF game has a good, well optimized PC port. Even back when FFVII and FFVIII first got their PC ports all those years ago, they were known for being terrible. Even the PC ports of FFXIII and FFXIII-2 are notoriously poor.

FF11's port to PC is also very bad, lacking both in optimizations for video cards, and poor control over settings. The entire game is extremely cpu reliant, and almost not GPU accelerated at all, except for using the VRAM and being affected by the memory bandwidth of the card.
This causes the game to be slow as shit even on new systems, if you increase the resolution to levels that are expected for new systems.

I think a large part of it is that they outsource the ports. Plus in most cases the recent PC re-releases have been ports of the Android/iOS versions that in turn have been ports of DS/PS3 emulated PSone versions. IX PC, for example, is basically running on an Android emulator. I think in most cases it's probably technically more accurate to call some of the re-releases "emulators" rather than actual ports.
Though, of course, that doesn't excuse XIII. XIII-2 I didn't have that many issues with and LR was fine for me.
On that note, aside from being 30 FPS locked, X|X-2 HD has been a pretty solid port for me. I haven't noticed any issues with it.

It sounds like X will run better on my PC. I've been having issues with IX like the part where you have to talk to Vivi on the Red Rose, I can only talk to Vivi if I walk through his model first. Game has also crashed on me and I haven't been able to talk to a couple npcs.

That's great news. I have it installed but haven't got around to trying it out yet.
And yeah, while XIII and XIII-2 are screwed, I heard that LR is actually a decent port.
