So I assume many of us here play our fair share of video games. Some are good, some are bad, some are meh. What were those games that you just couldn't put down? The ones that got you to bed late and maybe up early, that you couldn't wait to get home for, that you neglected other things for? Maybe they weren't even the best games you've played but for whatever reason, they just captured and held your attention from beginning to end.

What were these games for you?

Persona 4 was that game. I played the crap out of it when it first came out. Even when I replayed it on Golden, I couldn't put it down.

The When They Cry series. Approximately 200 hours of reading in 4 weeks. While having lectures at university every weekday.

In hindsight I quite regret rushing through it like that.

Edit: I double-checked my Mognet Messages. I took 17 days for Higurashi and Umineko each so it's more like 5 weeks, and I didn't have lectures while reading the former. So not quite as ridiculous as I remember but still, miles ahead of any other game I've ever played =P

DOTA 2 is one such games for me. I have tried quitting permanently a couple times but I'm always drawn back to it after a break. And it's so easy to say "just one more game".

Dark Souls is the other. Once I get the invasions going I just can't stop.

Edit: Also Magic: The Gathering. Last sunday my friends and I played from 3 in the afternoon until 22:30 at night, with only a 2 hour break for diner.

From what I remember most recently - Bayonetta 2, Tomb Raider (2013) and Bioshock Infinite had me playing for days straight until I finished them.

all the Uncharted games and The Last of Us.

i love how these games are almost half a movie.
Naughty Dog really knows how to make the characters alive and give them a real feeling.

Pretty much. Though Inquisition has lost its sparkle for me somewhat.

Actually Xenoblade is ending up like this this time around. I'm much more in to it this time than last time and I've made much more progress on the social building and sidequests

Pretty much. Though Inquisition has lost its sparkle for me somewhat.

Inquisition is basically, "My hand is glowing with an awesome power!"

Mine include Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, Ocarina of Time, FFI, FFVI, FFVII, FFVIII, FFX, Resident Evil, Mass Effect, Game Dev Tycoon, BattleTanx Global Assault, Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow, Pokemon Snap, and some other stuff I can't remember off the top of my head.

Final Fantasy X and Yakuza 2. These are the best of my favorites and I'd play them 24/7!
