The true test of a gamer in Final Fantasy IX is not defeating a boss, it's surviving against the boss until you have stolen all three items.

That's how I see things, anyway. Some others do not agree.

I know we have that other thread about stealing but I wanted a poll.

I steal from almost all the monsters, but sometimes I prefer to attack directly. It depends.

I try to steal form every boss but sometimes I accidentally kill them before i get the last thing :(

If I don't make it through the mid-opening credits Baku fight without the Mage Masher and Wrist, I've gotta reset.

When the lead character is a thief I only think to steal. I did a play through where I stole with him 100% of the time. He ended up getting potions to sell, tents to use/sell, and some good equipment too. There really is no reason not to steal.

Stealing is one of the only things that gets you missable items that I never really do in FF games. I am not sure why, it just annoys me.

I'm a regular klepto in gaming so hell yeah I steal everything. Considering how the ability system in this game works, its almost always useful to steal from everything, especially the bosses since they tend to either carry items you'll get in later chapters or one of a kind stuff.

I actually hardly steal. Feel like it's pointless most of the time.
I only steal from these every time:

Baku
Ice Sealion
At least one Beatrix
Master Gizamaluke
Zorn and Thorn

I don't see much reason for me to use Thievery so I don't steal from random enemies majority of the time. I think I did it once this playthrough.
