How long does it haunt your brain? Never, because you're a BAMF? That day? A year? 10 years later and you're still thinking about it as you brush your teeth and look into the mirror and wonder when your face became your parent's face?

It haunts me forever. I am still embarrassed over a thing I did when I was 9. It never goes away. I'm betting that the person who saw me do this embarrassing thing still remembers and thinks "Well, that kid 18 years ago was really weird."

I read about a trick somewhere if you remember something from the past and are about to go into a shame spiral, picture something ridiculous like a dinosaur bursting into the scene to interupt it.

I'd want to bury my head in the sand for the rest of the day, and maybe a couple of days after depending on the severity of the embarrassment.

I gave someone a funny story, and it's not the current viral video on youtube or something. It'll pass.

I thought that I was a "forever" person, but upon giving it more thought, it turns out I have a time limit: embarrassing things from before five or six years ago don't bother me.

Nope. I still cringe over things that I'm 100% sure no one remembers.

I'm going to sleep and my brain is all like, "Hey remember that time in the second grade?"

And they're very judgmental of it, too. Always giving me the stink eye. YOU MAKE MISTAKES, TOO!
