Body Health's Christmas Fitness DVDs Review by Twinged McCalfe

So after stuffing your fat faces at Christmas, it's time to pull on your stretchy joggers and start fighting that flab! Because we at Body Health are so good to you, we've given you a run-down of the five best DVDs promising you the beach body you've always wanted in time for Summer. Here are the contenders...

Bubba's Body Blast!
An unusual take on the fitness genre, Bubba concentrates on high-intensity interval training that... isn't particularly high intensity. Abandoning the usual "3 min workout, 30 sec rest" formula, Bubba flips this on its head. You exercise for 30 seconds then Bubba spends 3 mins serenading you with pleasant but predictable indie/folk rock. Despite having musical talent blessed by the gods, the workout leaves a lot to be desired. Verdict: Would not recommend

Curl with Chris!
Despite the disgustingly suggestive title, this at least does contain more minutes of exercise than the previous DVD. Unfortunately, there isn't a great deal of variation. It is basically 60 minutes of Chris doing extremely slow bicep curls whilst looking seductively at the camera. The exercises don't get a lot of screen time due to the camera being constantly zoomed in on Chris' handsome face. Verdict: Would not recommend.

Pleffy's Assault Course of Death
This guy is insane. He introduces himself as Pant Leg Eater From The Bad World and then claims this is the best home fitness routine ever created. He then embarks on an "easily recreated at home" assault course. He begins by running across rooftops whilst taking heavy fire from a mini-gun attached to a nearby helicopter. Next comes a two-mile swim in a lake of nuclear waste containing 300 alligators and 200 explosive devices. Finally, there is a one mile bare-footed dash down a road covered in broken glass and drawing pins whilst having live hand grenades thrown at him by midgets. Verdict: Would not recommend.

Steve's Salsa Seduction
Steve is clearly to Salsa, what Jon Goodman is to Olympic swimming. He does not know how to Salsa dance. At all. In fact, the entire DVD is just an hour of him dancing up to random women in nightclubs and demonstrating numerous ways in which someone can have their advances rejected. This shocking film closes with a shot of Steve sat on a bus at 3am dribbling and looking like he may have soiled himself. Verdict: Would not recommend.

Vasher's Vacation Video
This guy is buff as all hell. We were looking forward to finally seeing a workout that will produce dramatic results! As it turns out, This was just a video of some guy on holiday with his wife and kids. Exercises included Vasher jumping over a wall with no top on, Vasher fishing with no top on, Vasher smiling with no top on and many more topless moments. Whilst nice to look at, we didn't get up much of a sweat. Unless you count the part where Vasher was down to his underwear... with no top on. Verdict: Would not recommend.

After watching what passes for fitness DVD's these days, we advise you not to bother. Have an extra portion of chips, order the large pizza, get double scoop ice cream... these guys have really proved that exercise is overrated.

Finding buried treasure may seem like the ideal end to a magical summer vacation.Imagine the feeling of finding a huge chest that has long been forgotten to time. This is the person who will find such a chest, but the real adventure now begins.

Details: Good afternoon, Kevin. The time has come for your annual attack on a human to keep us the most feared creature in the ocean. Colin passed his last week by nibbling on the leg of a fat man. We're hoping that due to your successes in previous years, you can secure a human arm for our collection at the UHM (Underwater Human Museum). I've scanned the beach for you and there are five potential victims for you to consider.

Ayen
Easy pickings with this one. He rocked up to the beach wearing a Superman T-Shirt. We'll see how super he feels when he tries to fly with only one arm. Also, he's a Youtuber. Ugh. My personal recommendation.

Galuf
The youngest of the potential victims and most certainly the quickest if you like a challenge. Though it should be noted that his reactions will no doubt be slowed by the 4 litres of Scrumpy Jack Cider he consumed before entering the water.

Pant Leg Eater From The Bad World
Probably the toughest challenge. This guy is apparently an ex-military man and a ninja. Though we have intel from Conrad the Crab stating that his passport shows he originates from Washington... not The Bad World. I also spotted him eating pretzels and ice cream as opposed to pants like he claims. Clearly a pathological liar.

Pumpkin
For gender equality, the report has to contain at least one female. SPC gone mad, I know. This young lady is actually very nice but will be a very easy target for you. Her mobility is hampered due to the fact that she is merely a comedy vegetable used to scare children at Halloween.

Well this guy's just asking for it, isn't he? Far too few teeth to be a shark and not hairy enough to be a dog. Though we did spot him using his tongue to clean his own genitals.

The lost treasure


it was a windy day as the ship Final Fantasy crashed through the waves of the ocean. the crew was hard at work to tame the ship as it was rocking up and down.
´HOLD THAT ROPE! DONT LOSE IT!´ Sephex shouted when he saw one of the sailors struggle with it. he was about to lose the rope but quickly Spuuky was on it and tightened the rope.
´THE SHIP WONT HOLD MUCH LONGER´ he shouted at sephex. they had never experiences such a fierce storm before, but they had no other choice but to get through it.. or sink...


after a couple of hours the storm subsided and Galuf came out of his quarters to see how much damage the storm has done, with him came his accountant mr.Adequate.
he pased around slowly checking every inch of the ship ´hmm..´ Galuf said unsatisfied ´so much damage, lads...how could this have happened? we have been through worse.'
Skyblade came forward: 'S-sorry Captain galuf, sir, we did out best but the storm-'
'did alot of damage' interupted Mr.Adequate, 'you will fix it, we have to move on if we wish to find the Bleedin' Treasure'


the treasure was all that kept them going. they lost it 10 years ago but they never stopped looking for it.
the Bleedin' Treasure was their life purpose. without the treasure they could not go home.


'get it fixed within 5 hours, we will sail for the next harbor for suplies' commanded Galuf. he retreated back to his cabin.
'you heard the captain!' Sephex called out 'Fix the ship! we'll be at land soon!'
the crew roared in agreement and went about their tasks. and within 5 hours the ship was ready to sail to the harbor.


once they docked at the harbor Skyblade came out of the captain's quarters to tell the crew what suplies they would have to get.
Sephex, Skyblade and Spuuky were at the bar for a long needed drink. they were celebrating their survival when Spuuky shushed them down.
'ssst ssst, listen.. the guys behind us...'
the guys behind them were trying to keep the conversation private but talked to loud anyway.
'the treasure is close' a pirate said 'it has to be, i can smell it, our captain has the last clue to were that old Bleedin' Treasure is'
'but what about the Final Fantasy? they want it. they need it' a young lad said.
'dont worry about them, we'll get there before they do, we have the map.


Skyblade was about the get up and draw his sword but Sephex stopped him 'we'll inform the captain' whispered Sephex.
they went back to the ship and informed Captain Galuf about what they heard.
'hmm, so they know where our treasure is, huh? we shall steal the map and get there before they


in the middle of the night, with a full moon and cloudy as they went on their stealth mission.
they snuck on board, silent as cats. 'you 2, search the left' Galuf said to Spuuky and Skyblade 'you 2 with me, to the right' he said to Mr.Adequate and Sephex.
but before they could even move pirates came out of every corner and they were surrounded.


'the crew of the Final Fantasy' said a dark voice. the captain stepped out of the shadow.
'Captain Acula' Galuf replied 'i see you changed your profession'
'you will never find the treasure, we'll make sure of that' laughed Cp.Acula.


Mr.Adequate started laughing hysterically 'you forgot 1 thing, you fool!' he laughed.
the clouds disapeared and a full moon apeared and all the sudden..

Freya does sound different than I'd imagined

I have never played FFXIV Heavensward. It looks far too geeky to me. From what I've seen there are lots of funny looking people dressed in strange clothes talking in an unusual way. It also looks like they have the ability to cast magic spells which is completely unrealistic. There are also monsters that you have to fight that have no similarities to real life creatures. The game bears no resemblance to real life whatsoever and I for one want nothing to do with that.

I like games that mirror real life. Games where you get an unexpected electricity bill after forgetting you left the attic light on. Games where after a few too many whiskeys you are unable to completely satisfy your partner sexually. Games where your crippling anxiety means you would go to great lengths to avoid any type of human interaction.

So you nerds just sit there and throw spears at your dragons, I'm going to the beach. Unless there are people there in which case I'll probably just go back home.
