So using the characters from the Star Trek shows, make your own ship crew. You can take the characters at their prime too so you don't have to worry about all of that.

Question about the rules can I use a character who was played by a guy who played a Star Trek character and can those two characters be on the same crew?

Because Judge Dredd and Doctor McCoy makes for one hell of a starship.

I guess Picard would be my Captain, Spock would be the first officer, Tom Paris at the helm and Data would do the analysis stuff. Engineering... Scotty AND LeForge.

As Captains go, I like Kirk a lot, but Picard is just too awesome. I like a Captain who can delegate. Janeway is OK but honestly I'd prefer her in engineering somewhere. I do enjoy how much of a nerd she is about everything.
