So I'm level 12, got some Great Balls finally, but now I'm out of item space. Part of the issue is that I still have not bothered choosing a team to join yet; not because I'm one of those woobies who disliked the competitive atmosphere and doing this Team Harmony crap, but because I've never been much of a joiner of anything. Well it looks like I need to bite the bullet and finally join a team, so I'm asking the fair folk of EoFF to tell me what makes their team choice the best team!

I voted Mystic because that's what I picked, but only because it matched my character's outfit sooooooooo

Blue is the best because I'm on it.

Honestly, I think the only real advantage to being on a specific team is to be able to be a part of and hold gyms. In that case, it just depends on your area. If you have friends in your area playing, it would be worth joining that team as you can work together to take over gyms. Around here, red usually has the gums, followed by blue.

What Scotty said. Look around the areas you think you might battle gyms for and see what seems most secure, and go with that. I lucked out with Valor because all the local gyms are solidly Valor. I've got a whole 70 coins so far before someone from another team stumbled by our level 11 gym and shot it to hell. It was reclaimed pretty quick but I dislike standing in the street grabbing gyms. I'll probably do it a little when I'm off work in August. Maybe. I'd only spend coins on incubators, personally. I don't really care much for the other stuff. Lures are constantly popped by people in my city and I have spare eggs (I save them for mass-evolving). Incense didn't seem to be a huge help unless I walk in circles around lure-set Pokéstops. Also, if you go to places that have loads of lures set up in close vicinity, I have learned that this causes the game to just constantly crash, so you're better off sticking to quieter spots in my experience.
