Digitally it's available on the 30th I believe. Bluray is out in October. It's currently in theaters.

One of my colleagues at work said it's available for him to watch on his KODI box. I've no idea if he means the full movie or not but I'll check on my box later tonight.

No idea how available it is, but it looks like some lucky people in London will watch it tonight (https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/playstation-access-presents-kingsglaive-final-fantasy-xv-uk-premiere-tickets-27037517944). Haven't seen or heard anything about Kingsglaive showing in Scottish cinema, sadly.

Okay that was pretty cool. Looks like it's going to be quite story based rather than rampant fan service like Advent Children.

KODI boxes stream pirated material. KODI boxes themselves are just a box that you can stream media on. You are not possessing media so that part isn't illegal, no one in the EU has been charged for streaming. But you are watching pirated streams of material, so someone did pirate it and then host it for you to watch. So it is not normally available to the public, no. He is streaming pirated things and may not even realize it. That's the appeal of KODI.

BTW, how much stock, so to speak, are you guys putting into Kingsglaive when it comes to the overall story of FFXV? Do you think Kingsglaive will be a good indicator of the general quality of the story in the game? If it turns out bad, do you think that will color your expectations towards XV? Same with the opposite - if it's good, do you think you'll be more excited for the game? Or do you believe that, as different mediums with different methods of presenting story, characters, lore, etc., they can't really be compared and no matter which way it goes, you can't really judge XV before it comes out?

As things stand now I think of it as its own thing. Though I suppose I might think of it as indicative in regards to how well constructed the setting of FFXV is.

So how is the story of Kingsglaive different from what we will expect from FFXV? Is it pretty much the same? A prequel? Concurrent? I don't really know that much about it.

FFXV starts with Noct and crew leaving on the road trip. Kingsglaive happens right around then but shows what's going on in Lucis.

Oh cool! So I can watch the movie but not be spoiled about virtually all of the events of FFXV. Neat!

Odds are the reviewers don't like Japanese cinema. So, obviously critics opinions are to be taken with a grain of salt. As they should always be. Just because someone is a paid professional and review something, doesn't mean they enjoy that particular medium. Which means their opinion can't really be trusted.

I'll trust my own opinion, or people that I know and respect have similar interests as I do, 10203498324081979741897497138971941987348410549723 times before I'll trust a critics.
