I don't think I've seen a performance of his I dislike. Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, The Frisco Kid...

But really, he will to me always be Willy Wonka. He was what made that movie work. Such a wonderful performance. He was the ultimate mad candymaker. Off-kilter, in his own world, but a world that so perfectly fit what the chocolate factory was. He breathed life into that otherwise completely cartoonish place. He was what let us accept it.

Another great performer gone.
