We're now at our seventh round of the tourney.

Today's combatants are...

70864
Ixion
The lightnint summon for FFX, Ixion was known for its speed and prowess with magic. He has not appeared much since as a summon but was featured as an special hunt in both FFXI and XII. Ramuh's staff in FFXV actually has a horn in the shape of Ixion's as a nice shout out to the Aeon.

VS.

70865
Fenrir
Debutin in FFVI as an Esper with the power to cast Image/Blink on your whole party Fenrir has appeared a few times in the series such as Eiko's Wind and Earth elemental summon in IX. His most notable appearance is in FFXI where he was once a guardian avatar of Windhurst that gave the TaruTaru magic. One sage misused his power and drained him of his strength but still came to the Tarutaru's aid in a climatic battle with the beast men before vanishing.

Our next competitors are...

70866
Garuda
Debuting in FFIII as an infamous boss, Garuda has mainly been exclusive to the MMO FF entries. In XI, she was a bird granted great power after journeying to find the King of Birds to heal her sick master, she became a Celestial Avatar in death. In XIV, she is the Primal for the Ixal who fought a battle for the sky races against the earthbound Lord of Snakes. Weak from her battle, she feasted on his corpse to regain her strength and gained a thirst for the blood of land dwellers.

VS.

70867
Mindflayer
If you have a mind, he'll flay it. Stolen from Dungeons and Dragons, who stole the idea from Lovecraft, Mindflayer has been a regular enemy throughout the series but became a summon in FFIV where the little devil will paralyze and cast sap in addition to damage on one opponents for you. This beast is highly feared in the original Final Fantasy and FFTactics.

Our next battle is...

70868
Cait Sith
Though most fans know him as the mechanical traitorous turned hero avatar of Reeve in FFVII, this fella has actually been around since Final Fantasy II as a regular enemy. He made his debut as a summon and obtained his more memorable design in FFVI as an Esper who perished escaping the Magitek Research Facility with Ramuh. In XI, he returned as a summonable avatar who happens to be a race of time traveling beings trying to work around the infamous Crystal War.

VS.

70869
Sylph
A race of Fairies that found the badly wounded Yang, they nursed him back to health in their home filled with Malboros, Frog Wizards, and other nasty beasts. Should Cecil undertake the quest to obtain the Frying Pan to wake Yang from his coma, the Sylph will lend their aid as a summon to Rydia... or you could ignore the quest and get them automatically when you reuinite with Yang in the game's climatic battle against the Giant of Bab-il. They have appeared as summons in FFV and Tactics, and recently got promoted back to a story race in XIV.

Our final battle is...

70870

Cockatrice
Another enemy turned summon, these fellows follow their mythical origins better than most races and always have the ability to inflict stone on your party. They are one of the more underrated enemy races despite appearing in all but three of the main series (FFIX. X, and XIII) and a few spin-off games. While they have come in many forms, I personally love 70871

VS.

70872
Bomb
Ah the iconic Bomb enemy. Debuting in FFII, these fellows have appeared in every game in the series since, excpet Mystic Quest. They finally became a summon in FFIV for the player willing to grind for the drop and they've appeared as summons in spin-offs as well where they do their iconic Self-Destruct move to damage opponents who get a little too fresh with them.

Yes they were, by a Google number generator I believe. It's why this bracket was... interesting. I only added two myself just to get an even number. They are in the final bracket.
