A lot of us feel that 2016 wasn't that cool of a year. Which is why it's so important - now more than ever - to surround yourself with positive, friendly people! Thankfully, there are a lot of those on this forum. Here's a handful of them, nominated for this year's Happiest Member Ciddie, who are sure to make you feel better about everything just by being near you.

Crop doesn't give a damn about anything in the best possible way. He'll brush off any attempt to put him down and he's got the confidence of an A-list movie star. If we were to all be like Crop, there wouldn't be any world hunger. Trust me.

Karifean is always incredibly nice, even when he's wrong, or even if you think he's wrong. You're wrong. He's perfect. And you should be ashamed of yourself for thinking otherwise! A perfect cinnamon roll, too good for this world, too pure.

Pike mainatins a happy attitude and churns out one book manuscript per month with zero effort. I bet she gets all that energy from all the fanfiction she reads and the insanely nerdy games she always plays. We all secretly wish we were Pike.

Pumkin is the main protagonist of a seriously heartwarming underdog story. Maybe it's the fact that she's been through much that makes her see all the good in life so effortlessly. Or maybe it's just all the games she plays. It's probably the games, just sayin'.

Shaibana's energy probably comes from gorging on Westworld, GoT, and all the other fun stuff that people keep talking about but I've missed. Is that your secret, Shai? Can you tell me how you fill that void everyone has and come across as so incredibly cheerful all the time? I think we all need some of that.

This is why we're all here. The game series that united us all. Without it, a vast majority of us would never even get the chance to talk to each other. Sure, we've had good times and bad times, the series has had it's ups and downs, interest in the games themselves has rised and dwindled - but we all stayed here. Even if you don't like Final Fantasy that much anymore, you're still here because you love these people. And that's great, because we're all a pretty fantastic bunch, I'd say.

But for some of us, we still like to talk about Final Fantasy. We still consider them an important part of our lives, and even though the reason we stayed here specifically is the people, we are a group that still clings to those fond memories and hopes for the future. That's why we contribute to this section a lot. Because we love it. Because we love you guys and what what brought us together.

Prince/Princess: The title was originally used by Augustus at the establishment of the Roman Empire to avoid the political risk of assuming the title Rex ("King") in what was technically still a republic. In modern times, the title is often given to the sons and daughters of ruling monarchs.

Commodore: Commodore is a naval rank used in many navies that is superior to a navy captain, but below a rear admiral.

Master of the Fork: A culinary title, used exclusively by the Qu race to denote those who have attained a mastery of discovering and consuming foods from across the world. Also used to mockingly describe young lords and ladies who have mastered formal dining etiquette in finishing school.

Killer of Conversations: A rare title, used in equal parts reverence and fear of the person who bears it. Any attempts at asking what the title is to those in the know immediately shuts down any conversation, thus proving the point of the title.

Alderman: An alderman is a member of a municipal assembly or council in many jurisdictions founded upon English law. The title is derived from the Old English title of ealdorman, literally meaning "elder man", and was used by the chief nobles presiding over shires. Similar titles exist in Germany and in Scandinavian countries, such as the German Ältester.

Pinkasaurus Rex: A particularly flamboyant king.

Master: Master was used in England for men of some rank. It was later extended to all respectable men and was the forerunner of Mister. By the late 19th century, etiquette dictated that men be addressed as Mister, and boys as Master.

Memento Mori: An honorific used among members of the ninja community to recognise someone as particularly expert in their craft.

Count/Countess: a title in European countries for a noble of varying status, but historically deemed to convey an approximate rank intermediate between the highest and lowest titles of nobility.

Master of the Rolls: The Keeper or Master of the Rolls and Records of the Chancery of England, known as the Master of the Rolls, is the second most senior judge in England and Wales after the Lord Chief Justice. Fleece Navidad: Used among sheep to indicate who among them is next to sheered to make Santa Claus's beard.

Let's Play The Ciddies!


So I got this new game called 'The Ciddies' and I thought I'd make a LP of it. It's fairly experimental as games go, so I'm interested to get stuck in and show you guys!

Unfortunately, it has a pretty lengthy loading time. It took about six months to boot up. Definitely a glitch of some kind.

Anyway, when the game did decide to load, I was taken through a big cut-scene when I was given a task. A rather imperious looking figure appeared before my character:

My mission was to go through a sequence of challenges to attain the ultimate prize. A fairly standard story progression, I thought. Like Mario. And the characters interesting as well. We had Robbie Rotten and a wolf, a Tonberry, a warrior, and a man with a machine gun. Such an eclectic party! I was very intrigued where this would go.

You must be wondering about the gameplay at this point. It's very odd, a mix of different genres. It involved throwing warpy powers at enemies, before subjecting them to an awkward hot springs scene. It was... peculiar, to say the least.

One flaw I already see forming is that what I play isn't really translating into the story. So I shoot a few bad guys, splash around a bit. Then the next cutscene shows the group nominating on an online forum competition. What's that about?! I later discover that those were the challenges mentioned by the opening quest-giver. We all passed the nominations, and so the next challenge was issued.

The gameplay changed once again. This time, it was slower paced, and I was controlling some pets fight each other to the death, literally. I lost a cat to a weird-looking fire moth.

And this was all taking place in some dystopian virtual reality where such animal fighting is legal.

A few more fights later, I had apparently won enough points to move onto the next round. Everyone in my party had gained enough points to level up as well, so that was nice. Probably the best farming opportunity was camping at the blue wall, and allowing enemies to come at me. Still not sure what the prize is yet, I don't think I've seen it been advertised at all.

Anyway, that's it for this post. Come back in another six months, where I'll post up the next chapter to this LP... or not. Who can say?
