And why?

Someone asked me this today at work and I didn't have an answer!

To quote one of my favorite Internet people, Lindsay Ellis:

I don't know. What's your favorite sibling?

I love and like many movies across many genres. Movies that have made me laugh, cry, think, switch off, forget where I am for two hours, or have just been great fun. I would have thought it impossible to pick.

That said, it isn't, and my favourite movie of all time also happens to be the greatest movie of all time: Die Hard.

This is way too hard to answer. I can barely remember the films I watched last year, let alone across time.

Lemme me think about this, and I'll see what I can find. I should consult the media log 2016 thread and jog my memory.

I don't know if it would be my favorite movie ever, but Pacific Rim is definitely up there for me.

Well, I know at least from the movies I saw last year, The Nice Guys and Fantastic Beastd were two insanely fun pictures. Especially the Nice Guys. It is criminally underrated if only because people don't talk about it constantly - because they should

Aliens because it's perfect in every way.

I know a lot of people like the first movie better, and the first movie is damn good, but for some reason I like the more actiony sequel. Also it's more quotable. GAME OVER MAN, GAME OVER

It's been a very long time since I've last seen a movie that was truly memorable to me, so I'll go with my previous choices.

Intouchables, Gran Torino and Invictus. If you'd absolutely have me choose only one, I'd probably rank them in that order as well.

The Godfather, Jurassic Park, and Star Wars. It would be difficult for me to rank those three and the ranking changes periodically as I like them for different reasons.

Jurassic Park, The Fugitive, or Rush Hour. Man, maybe Spuuky and I can watch Rush Hour right now!

I really don't know that I can choose. I have a favourite movie for different moods... IT'S TOO HARD!

Some top though are Legally Blonde, The Green Mile, The Silence of the Lambs, Interstellar, The Prestige

AND OF COURSE HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON. OF COURSE!

Princess Bride: Most quotable movie of all time.
Alien: James Cameron can suck it.
Jurassic Park: It's got it all (pseudo-science notwithstanding). "Clever girl" is one of my favorite lines from any movie ever.
Moon: Sam Rockwell is the shit. The end.
Stranger Than Fiction: Ferrell not doing his shtick is wonderful.

I don't have a favorite movie. There have just been too many great ones that have come out across time.

You know, for years I have said The Empire Strikes Back, but as I age and my tastes expand, it's hard to narrow it all down to one movie and say, "Yeah, that's the one right there." I guess I'll just list a few that I know I watched endlessly and I am always up for watching.

Star Wars Original Trilogy
Indiana Jones (1 through 3)
Terminator 1 and 2
All Toy Story movies
The Lego Movie
The Road
Scott Pilgrim

Man, I got to stop myself. I'm just going to list too many movies.

Probably The Lives of Others. If not that, Ikiru.
