The Simpsons. Recent seasons notwithstanding (though I still laugh at them), no other series has been so witty for such a consistent period. Seasons 2-8 are absolute gold. The characters are so fantastic and the jokes are so varied and intelligent that this show really set the standard for not just animated television but comedy in general.

Surprises so far!

Mine isn't a surprise. I adore Battlestar Galactica. I watched it during a difficult time in my life and I just super enjoy it.

Friends, but Will & Grace is a close second

I have a few I just adore and can watch over and over again.

1. Game of thrones number one of all time!
2. Sparticus
3. Vikings

I just love history and take a interest in difrent cultures. Game of thrones isn't history I know, but still love the trout out of it!

Red Dwarf is the greatest tv show of all time (and still Freya refuses to watch it).

It peaked at series 3-6 but the first two are great as well... though you can tell they had no budget

The West Wing. Only series I will watch through once a year and never get sick of.

Star Trek because I've been a Trekkie since before I can remember.

If I was gonna pick a favorite of them I'd go for DS9.

Game of Thrones. Love it and it is the only TV show I still watch.

Buffy (and Angel).

Because they're the best.

I don't watch much TV, but my favorite TV show would probably be Avatar: The Last Airbender. I watched it when I was 12 years old and I loved it. I've never been that emotionally invested in a show before or since. I haven't seen it in awhile, so my opinion of it might change a bit if I watched it today, but it will always be special to me.

South Park because it's been pretty consistent in quality over the 100 years or so it's been on.

Haven't watched TV in over 10 years. When I did, it was never sitcoms or western cartoons. It was always anime. Favorite back then would be any Gundam really.

I consider The Wire to be the best TV show ever made, by a pretty significant margin. Brilliant story-telling and brilliant acting, but also combined with biting social commentary and an unapologetic, honest portrayal of largely ignored segments of society.

A more personal, much more subjectively favorite show is House. Because House is awesome (the show and the character).

Doctor Who. Apart from the Teletubbies, it's the first TV show I can remember watching. Battlestar Galactica (the remake one) is right up there as well.

Ever think of Steve Urkel?

Survivor, still quality television despite going in directions I'm not fond off largely. Still remains important for issuing a new age of reality television, for better or for worse.

Star Trek: TNG and DS9, Game of Thrones, The Simpsons, South Park, and Lost are close seconds.

Adventure Time is one of the greatest things. And no, I don't just think this because I have just marathoned the heck out of it.

But, going back more than a week, House is my go-to comfort TV. Maybe I should continue that rewatch I had going on...
