Do you look to the fan community to help spice up your FF adventures? Perhaps you've simply played [insert FF game] so much that you wanted something new but still wrapped in the same old game you loved?

If so, do you enjoy the rarer story hacks that change things significantly or do you just like some new and more challenging gameplay?

I also just kind of want to recommend a couple mods for both fans of this kind of thing and potentail newcomers.

Final Fantasy VII: New Threat (http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=14938.0) - The creator, Sega Chief, recently just finished this. If you've played an earlier version like I did several years ago, it has been substantially changed. Tons of new bosses, new ways to get Limit Breaks, character-specific innate abilities and diverse stats, and so much more.

Also, SC intends to work on creating a FFVIII New Threat next which I personally am super hyped for. If anyone can turn FFVIII into an interesting game instead of an incomprehensibly broken mess, it's him.

Final Fantasy VI: Return of the Dark Sorcerer (https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/2207/) - New story, new characters, new bosses, redesigned world map, whole new soundtrack composed of remixed songs (examples: the new Setzer now has the Pirates of the Caribbean theme and I just got done with the "Cosmic Cave" (Espes' cave) which had FFVIII's dungeon music)
