Laguna is the only choice for me here. It's weird that pretty much all of these characters I've had problems with over the years. All except FFIX of course.

Right, as soon as I've beaten this damn Kefka's tower then I'm starting FFIX.

Anyway yeah, Laguna. Loved his adorable dorkishness.

Only FFIX characters (-Amarant)(+Laguna) had substance. Voted for Zidane on this one, but Steiner is a very close second.

Zidane. Was going to pick Red XIII, but Zidane definitely to me played a bigger role in saving the world. If I had to pick favorite role character in that era though, it'd be Nanaki. Loved his demeanor and story.

Playable characters only, I'm afraid! I should have stayed that when I made the thread.

I know you fight with him in the Kalm flashback but he isn't controllable :p
