So in a stupid not hip thing, I have to MAIL a CHECK to pay a medical bill. Can't hand deliver it or anything have to mail it. Has to be a check. I can't make the payment over the phone. It's stupid.

I have to go buy stamps because who mails things anymore? I do everything over the phone or through an online payment.

Do you mail things?

The only thing I mail is the monthly check to my gardener. For some reason, once he is done with the yard he just puts the bill in the mail slot and leaves instead of waiting 5 minutes for us to cut him the check right there.

I think I had to mail one medical bill for $15 a few months back because their automatic payment system is stupid.

In my personal life? Never.

In my professional life? I send a couple dozen a month.

Not since I was arrested for sending death threats to Piers Morgan.

Quite often, especially since I don't use most chats anyways so...

Only when I have to. My grandpa helped hook me up with my mortgage (he does this as a side business and I get NO special treatment just for the record) so I have to mail that by check. I am sure I probably could set up an online payment thing, but it's far more simple to just throw a check out every month.

I also have to mail a check for my condo association. There is an online payment option, but the website is trash and you have to jump through way too many hoops to even set that up. It's easier for me to pull money from my 401K than to set up an online payment for my association. Stupid. Anyway, I mail it by check and they do provide everything but a stamp, so again, far easier by check to do that!

All the time at work. In my personal life, only when sending birthday cards and/or presents to relatives.

I certainly receive more mail than ever, since the internet's shopping selection is so much greater than going into any given store.

Sometimes I mail things out, but not often. The only time I ever send mail en masse is the few times where I've participated in the EoFF Christmas card event.

A few years ago I hand wrote letters to online friends. I figured putting the time and effort into writing someone would show them how much I appreciate talking to them more than a casual e-mail would.

Last year I wrote a cosplayer I enjoy and received a nice letter and some cool photos and candy back.

I enjoy the idea of a pen pal. The idea that someone would take time out of their day to write me is just awesome to me. I also like opening up a letter and seeing the persons handwriting. There's something validating about getting a piece of paper from someone you've never met in person, like "this is real!"

Just packages for birthdays, Christmas, etc. Even the apartment management finally got with the times, and put everything online.

Okay outside of work. That doesn't count, guys. In your personal life, do you mail things?

Seems like only when you have to for bills is the consensus

Only when I have to reply to hate mail. It's more personal to send a physical letter.

France is pretty stuck in the 1990s when it comes to administration so I've had to mail things way more often than I'm used too.

I very rarely mail anything anymore. My bills are all paid online, although I do receive them through the mail. Occasionally I mail claims for health insurance.

Like Del, my gardener also drops his bill into my mail slot and leaves when he's done with his work, but I know where he lives so I then drive by his house and drop my cheque into his mailbox instead of mailing it.

I work for the State of CA. Some depts/divisions still only take mail-in applications, so when I apply for promotion to those depts/divisions, I have to use the mail...

I still use emails for payment confirmations.

Still use e-mails?! Goodness! I didn't think anyone still used such archaic technology. I get my payment confirmations beamed directly into my brain. You should look into that.

Getting real Christmas cards at Christmas and sending them out is always fun. It's a nice surprise when you get a real card in the mail.

You still get things directly?! All payments and confirmations and anything else for me just gets added to a blockchain in the cloud. I could access it if I ever wanted, but there's really no need. The AI handles all those decisions for me.

Sarah mails art all the time and sometimes I help her out with that. Other than that, just returns of faulty stuff on rare occasions if I buy it online.
