Theory : There's certain 'groups' of people when it comes to this game.



The Yugioh. You love this game because of the cards mini game. You'll play for hours battling students for their cards, searching the world for rare ones, and you'll be in a outrage if you ever lost one.
The Marmite. You HATE this game. That's all. You hate this game and you feel like it's one of the worst Final Fantasy games in the series, and/ or the WORST. To you, you don't understand why others could ever love this thing.
The Squall. You love this game, because you feel like you relate to Squall or another main character.
The Junction. You are one of the ones that love the polarizing Junction system and play the game to experiment and or break the game.
The Rinoa. You love this game for it's bittersweet romantic plotline. Perhaps you love this game for Laguna and his story with Julia. You love Eyes on Me.
The Laguna. You look forward to the Laguna flashbacks everytime and strongly hold the belief that he should of been main lead instead of Squall.

I used to be a Marmite but now I don't hate this game, I just don't really like it either. It's far from the worst of the series, especially if we consider the spinoffs. I think Squall is a pretty good MC, maybe he could have been the best of the FF series if his character wasn't already done before (and arguably better) with Cloud. I can't stand any of the supporting cast besides Laguna and his friends. The junction system is similar to the materia system before it except even more ridiculously broken. And I never gave a trout about triple triad (or FF minigames in general) even though everyone else loves it.

I played Eyes on Me at a piano recital back in the 9th grade right around when the game came out, so I'm a fan.
