Probably Tomb Raider. DQIV is just too old and shows the signs of its age. If you had even gone one entry higher to DQV, I could probably go the other way, but DQIV is way too basic. And I like the recent Tomb Raider series. Not enough to nominate one myself, but certainly more than some NES era games that barely go beyond basic RPG mechanics.

I didn't like DQ4 at all, I really liked Tomb Raider.
