EoFF Side Content Contest 2019

Rules are simple:

1. You have one week to Mognet Message me your top five favorite pieces of side content in the series. This can be a mini-game like Triple Triad or Blitzball, or optional quests like FFIV's Sylph Cave or IX's Mognet Supersoft quest. The key point here is that it has to be some type of side content or minigame.

2. Afterwards, I'll make a few threads to battle out your fave side content against each other so we can determine once and for all which side content is actually superior.

For the case of FFVI and it's open ended second half, quests involving picking up any of the main party members is excluded, but I'll count recruiting Umaro and Gogo just like I'll count picking up Yuffie and Vincent in VII.

Does picking up Yuffie include the whole Don Corneo in Wutai thing? Or maybe that's separate but also counts as side content?

I'll merge them together because you can't do it without unlocking Yuffie first.

It totally changes the character of the thing because actually getting Yuffie is just a pain in the ass, while the Wutai sidequest is great (I'm sure many here will disagree).

You mentioned Sylph cave, but I was also wondering about lumping together Rydia summon quests. I would probably go with land of summoned monsters if it's just one. I think you need to do asura and leviathan before you can do bahamut though (sylph might still be separate)

I kind of feel the same way. I came up with 5 but it felt kind of forced.

Now that's what I'm talking about. We're fninally up to 25 nominations and I'm pretty happy we got a nice widespread selection of noms from all across the series.

Some fun facts:
The only Numbered entries not to receive a nomination are FFII, III, XI, and XV.
FFVII had the most side content nominated with four.
X-2 is the only non-mainline entry to get any nominations.
Only three noms got nominated more than once.

There were a few entries I totally expected to get in that didn't get nommed though:

Chocobo Breeding/Racing (VII)
Ruby and Emerald WEAPON
Cloud's Motorcycle race game
The Eight Dragons (FFVI)

Chocobo Breedong and Racing are mostly annoying tasks to get to the coveted KoTR tbh. The breeding is completely a pain. The racing looks kind of fun but you have so little control that it gets pretty mind numbing. I never beat Ruby and Emerald so I won't go for those. I think they're overpowered anyway. Honestly, I probably could have gone for Cloud's motorcycle tbh. I just didn't. I thought about the eight dragons. Opted for others, but definitely considered it. My FFVI choice was due to the humor level. I generally opted for more story-based and comic stuff over mini-games except one choice.
