Today, it's all about Final Fantasy XIV!

Treasure Hunt: Everybody loves treasure hunting, or at least I feel like everyone should. Here you find a map that marks a spot somewhere in the massive region of Eorzea. If you find the X, you will be rewarded with treasure or even a mini-dungeon or two! So relive your childhood fantasy and go find that treasure!

vs.

Palace of the Dead: In the subterranean city of Gelmorra, a deep dungeon was discovered that was permeated by a strength draining fog and confounded would be adventurers with it's chaotic and transforming architecture that made it impossible to truly map. Still adventurers come for the call and try to tackle this 200 floor behemoth of a dungeon. Reduced back to level 1 in their proficiency, the heroes must tactfully re-level and solder on through this dungeon of mystery to reach the fabled bottom floor.

Palace of the Dead/Heaven-on-High.

Maps are fun enough, but the RNG can feel penalizing (vs. something that works with you). PotD/HoH is actually fairly engaging content, useful for leveling if that's your thing, and until Blue Mage came out a couple of months ago, the only solo content in the game.

Maps are just sort of there, and people never want to do free-for-all, so basically 7 people put in hard work for 1 person to get a shit ton of rare items to use or sell. And then 1 person gets nothing because it wasn't "their" map, even though it really shouldn't matter whose map it is, because the only thing that defines it as someone's map is that they happened to have it. Maps are not even hard to procure, so it's not like it's this super hard to get thing, and people just come along for the ride.

tl;dr PotD is dope af, maps are fucking stupid

I burned myself out on Palace of the Dead when Queens hair was released. I still haven't set foot in Heaven on High.

Maps are pretty fun. I like the troll doors and you can get some money.

Not sure if you still need a tie breaker but Treasure Hunting for sure.

Afraid Palace of the Dead won by coin toss.

Dx But it's not even the next round yet, why take a coin toss over a legitimate vote?

I gave people a time frame, if I get lax on that, people might not vote right away and then the whole contest will stall. Faster turn around means this tournament may see it's conclusion. If you didn't vote within the allotted time frame, you're leaving the outcome to chance. Besides, I already announced in the main thread the winner like two days ago., I can't just take that back now. :mymelbert:

Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiine but I know in my heart the Treasure Maps won!

But you could always make it so that post-poll votes are only allowed in tie-breaker situations, and first vote only. :D

There has to be a hard deadline in order to advance to the quarter finals or whatever though. At some point the tie has to be definitively broken, not just holding off to see if someone votes late to break the tie. One could argue that allowing for late votes to break ties would create a disparity between early rounds and late rounds in the initial set of polls.
