Hello everyone just here to introduce myself. My name in Claire(irl too.) I decided to join because these forums look rather active compared to others I've seen and joined and seems like a nice community. The other forums I frequented were way too slow(The Final Fantasy.com forums) I have VARIOUS interests as we all do. I'm introverted but that's ok because I'm open on message boards. My favorite Final Fantasies are FFV, FFVII, and FFII(Origins and Jeff Ludwig's Rebalancing mod versions) Other details are in my profile, if anyone was interested that is.

Thanks for all the warm welcoms!

Does anybody know why forums in general about FF have slowed down so much though? I mean back in 2004-2010 forums used to be way more active I wonder what's the cause of slowdowns. Maybe it's because other overrated social networking sites like Reddit.

Pretty much exactly that, Reddit has replaced the classic bulletin board forums, with subreddits taking the place of specific fan forums like this.

Also, welcome!

I feel that the Final Fantasy subreddit is so immature. If someone says one thing out of the norm or has a unique percpective on something regarding the series they get downvoted to death. It's like a bunch of moody teenagers run the place or something.

This is true of most subreddits, though. I can try posting on r/hockey and get downvoted into oblivion for liking the most hated team, or I could get downvoted on r/gaming because I don't happen to buy into the whole "EA BAD" craze. Hot takes get you downvotes.

I'd still be wary of hot takes on here. Particularly if you happen to like Final Fantasy XIII. :p

Anyways, welcome. Hope you enjoy your time here.

Welcome! :)

Facebook and Reddit mean this place isn't nearly as active as it used to be, but a fair number of us still drop in now and then. We've also got years of old threads which might not be current, but can still be fun to browse.

Hello. If you like Game of Thrones you came just at the time of year where many of us change our avatars and signatures in excitement of the new season. (Except for last year, HBO :mad2:) The topic for it can be found in the Lounge forum, although its massive.

I feel like you've just described reddit period. Anyway, even if you ignore the behavior of its users, reddit is fundamentally inferior to legitimate forums because it doesn't have proper threads and isn't formatted to encourage discussion regardless.

Yes, what you say about reddit is very much true. I used to post on a lot of subreddits(asktransgender, final fantasy, introvert etc) and noticed it's just too immature. I haven't visited the site in about half a year.

I tried Reddit as well if you speak against whatever the hivemind is you get voted down to Russian Winter Levels of minus.
