So, in the PlayStation version of the original Final Fantasy they replaced that one guy whose name I can't spell with Link. In an elf village where the elf sprites look similar to Link from the Zelda games.

This obviously means that the game's world and Hyrule are connected and the Zelda games are in fact prequels of the original Final Fantasy. There can be no other explanation!

I'd honestly be more interested in a DQ/FF crossover than a Zelda one. Hell a DQ/Zelda crossover makes more sense to me since they have some stylistic similarities in my mind.

There's already too many crossover things these days. It's generally too fan servicey and lacking in substance. I won't begrudge you your crossover if you can get it, but count me out.

Chrono Trigger then ;) I mean, sure, it's not a crossover in a literal sense, but thematically? It's pretty much the closest we ever got and it's magical.
