The Numbers Game

What is a game Squenix has released in the past that you felt should have been a numbered entry in the franchise? Must be a game developed by Square, Enix, or Square-Enix.

For the FF series. I can think of entries I'd like to demote, but not really any I'd want to promote. Closest would be FFT or Xenogears, but both are a little too different to feel right as numbered entries into the series. There would need to be adjustments including in production values of both games to work well as numbered FFs.
