How do I use an Emulator/ROM?

I want to play the ROM version of the original Final Fantasy III but I've never done this before so I don't know where to begin in attempting to do this. I know it requires an emulator but where can I get it and and most of all how do I use it to play a ROM game?

I don't know. People still use ROMs? It's been well over a decade since I've played ROMs. If you can find an emulator, it should be pretty self explanatory. Just load up the executable and choose your rom from the pulldown menu. In some cases you may be able to boot up the emulator playing a particular rom by clicking on the rom file or dragging the icon to the emulator icon or something like that.
