Probably Mass Effect 2 for me. Both games have characters that I love, but Mass Effect has slightly more of them.

A tough call since both have some great characters, but I felt closer to ME2's cast compared to Witcher since they are part of your team. Geralt is too much of a lone wolf so I never felt super connected to anyone he met, even Triss who I dated.
