View Full Version : [Bravely Default] Jinx Plays Bravely Default for the first time (blind run: see inside)
DOING THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME, but I know about the big twist, so I do recognize some of the impact and fun will be lost for me.
That said, I know nearly nothing else about this game, other than jobs and the Brave and Default stances. That's it.
This is a thread for Fynn, basically.

Ringabel best boy
I know this is controversial but IMO the entire main cast is perfection

Not just fashion. FASHIONAAABLUH!
based on their coloring and ahoge, ringabel and edea are siblings/twins, even though ringabel is like, in love with her
calling it now
The weapons in this game are confusing. The having one in each hand (monks use staves, what?). But then getting my black mate a new rod doesn’t increase her magic attack? And de-equipping doesn’t lower it? What’s the point?
you can never sell anything either so I fee like I’m always short on money
I JUST REALIZED RINGABEL'S NAME IS RING A BELL BECAUSE HE HAS MEMORY LOSS
*big groan*

iirc you get more money coming in when you obtain the merchant asterisk
Weapons work better when your proficient with them. Fire rods boost fire magic etc. Specials and the way you fill out your special depend on your weapon. Which is why it’s not always best to go with swords, because you get your special up with a sword by hitting enemies, whereas for a rod special you have to cast spells

nah nah that i know, it just wasn't immediately obvious where the stats boosts (specifically magic attack) was but, i figured all of that out lol

Bravely Default is pretty fun. The defeat the boss to get the job mechanic was cool, as was brave/default choices. Let me know if 'Love in the Crossfire' gets stuck in your head.
