using this ancient form of communication rather than masto makes me feel like i'm writing in stone tablets but i also kind of need that in my life rn lol, seems more solid rather than stuff just disappearing into the ether of content right away

doing ok, juggling life responsibilities and wfh and posting things on a 20 yr old ff message board lol
i been trying to run regularly which actually helps with everything

Being a parent is a lot of work but also really fun. Hanging out with my kids and watching all the cute stuff they do is one of the biggest joys of my life. But I was not prepared for all the chores that go with it...

ngl I spend a ton of time on SA these days because it's still super active and I miss message boards. Masto is cool for what it is (and I like it over twitter) but having asynchronous conversations that are ongoing is just comforting.

I feel like I already have a lot of chores just because of our pets but yeah. I'm just imagining all of the stuff where I'm like "I can put off going to the store for a few more days, we have enough to get by" or "eh, laundry can wait, I'm not out of clean underwear yet" and realizing that kinda stuff is right out the window once the kid is here.

Trips to the grocery store will definitely catch up to you quickly. Fortunately babies just need diapers and milk to get by, better have plenty of that though. :D Once you have a little kid you'll be amazed how much food they can plow through.

To be honest, our budget for dry dog food is pretty well accounted for, so my plan is to see how long we can go just feeding them that once they're on solids. I figure it's only a marginal increase in our expenditures and Chewy is pretty quick to ship out new bags. We'll start introducing them to fresh fruits and vegetables once they're old enough to start generating income.

I'm currently working part time, looking at September full time hopefully. Personal life wise I went through some significant changes of late. For the most part they're for the good. Though some of them will shock many.

My omelette game is generally decent but I have one downfall. I love to overfill them because I am a greedy fucker and they sometimes struggle and burst open. It's worth it every single time though.

I have never made an omelette that didn't turn out just kinda squishy and weird tasting. I have gotten very good at pancakes from scratch though. Once we're into our new house and have more space, my wife and I have agreed we are buying a waffle iron so I can get on that too.

The 'omelette' I make for my kids came out of a sort of mistake. I was making a traditional omelette that folds over but there was too much cheese and it overflowed and fried up in the pan. They liked the crispy cheese so much I started sprinkling it on top and frying it up like that. Then they stopped eating the part with the gooey cheese in the middle and just asked for the crispy one. Now I basically make an egg pancake with fried cheese (on both sides). They love it though.

I honestly would enjoy an espresso machine. I mainly make coffee with a coffee maker and now a keurig because my coffee maker is in shambles. What espresso machines were you looking at? It seems like a very expensive thing to get.
