Live A Live, which is a funky time traveling RPG made by FFIV Tokita Tanaka, is finally coming West with a SaGa style remaster. Even more interesting is that it's getting a physical release with the special edition. The game allowed you to choose several characters from different time periods and go through their fun personal journeys. You need to play them all to uncover what ties everything together but the game has a funky grid style turn based combat system and all the scenarios play slightly differently from kung-fu tournaments, to cowboy quick draw, to ninja stealth missions. It's a quirky game that the emulation community really loves.

For some reason I thought this was always available and this was just a remake. I feel like I've heard people on the net saying they've played this before.

It's been available for emulation for ages, so that's why. This the first time it has been released outside of Japan officially. Same deal with Trials of Mana a few years ago.

Ngl, this was the most exciting news for me during the direct. Totally unexpected and I’m really happy that this little gem of a game is finally going to reach a wider audience!

They have been teasing a western release for a few years now. So I'm happy it's going to happen.

I'm pretty stoked for this one. A quirky experiment we were never meant to enjoy
