Have you ever taken out Evrae Altana the "regular" way?

To my knowledge I've just always thrown a few phoenix downs at him and called it a day. And then picked up the remaining treasure chests in peace.

Don't think I've ever gone the route of just straight fighting him and messing with the lock mechanic of that battle.

Hell yeah. I got Wakka to kill Rikku and Tidus first because they were too ugly to bear. Then I spent a good five minutes admiring Wakka's manly chest before getting him to throw balls at that overgrown serpent. The two bonded over the fetch playdate with each other and the rest were history. :bigsmile:

Nope, it's very rare that I fight one of those kinds of battles (one hit kill with a phoenix down or whatever) the normal way.

I would make an exception if the boss is very fun or interesting to fight normally, but I can't think of any particular battle where you lose out on an interesting battle by taking advantage of the zombie gimmick
