This is a question I genuinely wonder from time to time, and today I remembered my password here, so I'm even mechanically able to ask it. What have you been up to lately? You, specifically, the reader of this paragraph.

I will answer the question myself as well, but for now I'll toss it in the air.

Work: I'm the founder and treasurer for the social committee for a department of about 400 people at work, which has definitely added... well, more social stuff to my life, I suppose. I'm still at the same company I've always been at, although I shifted roles to Business Analyst a few years back.

Life: The trip back to NZ last year for the first time in over 21 years was amazing, completely beautiful from start to finish and got to catch up with all the family and those I'm closest to. Followed that up with my stepbrother's wedding in the US later the same year, and trips to see friends in New York and Chicago (admittedly that was this year, but it was January)... last year saw a lot of travel. I'm chilling since Chicago but the bro and I are already making vague plans to both travel to NZ at the same time someday so everyone can be in the same place at once, as there has always been at least one person missing at every family meetup since I left NZ in 2002. Other than travel, Smitzy started limping a lot lately and I freaked out and spent £100 at the vet to find out that she has a sore toe (probably yanked too hard while her claw was stuck on something, apparently).

Gaming: Currently playtesting the alpha of My Time at Evershine (under NDA, obviously, so can't really say anything more than that). Also just finished Persona 5 Royal, which completed the Pesona 3R-4G-5R trio that all my friends are so hugely invested in. Still logging into Final Fantasy XIV every now and then - I actually still get the odd person messaging me there from EoFF, too! For me, E33 is still my GOTY at the moment. I also spend a lot of time playing indie games - just finished Legends of Amberland about 30 minutes ago.

D&D: Been playing Dungeons & Dragons for a few years now, we're into the triple digit sessions for Icewind Dale. Love it! It's all getting towards the final days now, I suspect, so I'm excited for whatever campaign we pick up next.

TV/Film: Currently watching Gachiakuta for anime, but also Campfire Cooking in Another World with my Absurd Skill for a nice braindead-but-fun anime while I'm eating dinner. I really enjoyed K-Pop Demon Hunters, like many people. I've also been watching a bunch of K-Dramas, mostly thrillers or dramas but a few light hearted ones thrown in here and there, too.

Music: Got into K-Pop a few years back and man has that taken over my music scene. Fave artists/groups are Everglow, CRAXY, Bibi, Viviz, Mamamoo and Purple Kiss. Outside of K-Pop, I listen to a large mix of Pop, EDM and chill music - this year I've listened to a lot of Madeon, Porter Robinson, Misaki (the indie Japanese artist, not the "emoviolence" band), RADWIMPS, the E33 soundtrack and Kashiwa Daisuke.

So yeah. And I still type stupidly long posts! Clearly!

So few of us left... so little time to progress. Well I'll give y'all an update on me I suppose.

Work wise?

Well I'm working in a post 16 colleges group these days (yeah, some idiot thought I would be good to work in an actual school!) I do recruitment/HR these days. I prefer internal recruitment, there's a lot less stress involved.

Life wise?

Well I've been with my current partner for 3 years as of the 29th January 2026. We just moved in together, still London based but we moved further west as my office is technically in Slough. She is a data analyst and qualified maths teacher. I should be introduced to her mother this easter coming, though that is a little up in the air because her mom is still living in Odessa, Ukraine. (I still obviously have a type).

I've been learning Russian language for like 5 years. I'm getting fairly good, I'm approximately at B1 level now. It's a real difficult challenge, I like it immensely and not just because it makes reading and understanding almost every slavic language out there easier.

It's not all been good news however.

In July of this year, I was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy. Apparently, to be effective your average human heart needs to be 55% efficient at pumping blood. Mine is 35% I take a lot of different meds now. Theyve determined the cause to be genetic, thanks Dad, given the choice of male pattern baldness or heart failure to inherit... I would have chosen the baldness. My blood pressure which was normal to begin with is now through the floor (literally, using my electric reader which generally gives a result slightly on the high side I'm regularly putting out results of 95/72 to give you an understanding 120/80 is normal. This has knock on effects of my fatigue levels and energy being very high/low.

Games wise?

I play a mobile game called Star Trek Fleet Command - I'm on EU 156 for any people who fancy coming across just be mindful that the game has been out for 7 years it's not easy to catch up to people like myself with a lot of time sank into the game. It's 4x styled game.

I also play a lot of War Thunder on PC, happy to jump on with anyone from here, just give me a buzz on Steam or Discord (I lurk on EOFF server).

Other games I enjoy are titles like Rim World.

don't get as much time for games as I used to, definitely don't get to burn the midnight oil anymore.

Over all, a miracle I made it this far in this world, I thought I would have been dead and buried some 15 years ago by now.

Aww Levian!! It’s been ages.

Del Murder and I have 3 kiddos now. Our 2 oldest are rapidly approaching their teenage years and will be around the age I was when I first started messing around on Internet forums which is wild to think about because there’s no way I’m letting them loose on today’s internet.

We also just had our 20th Anniversary together and went to Mexico City to celebrate. We are still very cute and very in love and Del Murder still remains the best thing the internet and the universe has ever sent my way. 🥰

Life is overall very good, which is often discombobulating given the absolute hellscape they often seems to exist around us. I still argue with people on the internet, which has never been a more futile endeavor than it is these days, but you know, old habits.
