View Full Version : Audio/Video cables or RF
Ok, I just bought a psx off a friend and it only came with an rf adapter. What I want to know is if it will be beneficial for me to get audio/video cables instead or should I just stick with what I have.

Depends on your tv or vcr hookup. Wrong forum btw. ;)
I think RCA cables are usually used, cuz that's what I use. But they came with the stupid grey box. If you can hook it up and it work, what else do you really need?

Basicaly, if your TV/VCR has little yellow, white, and red plug spaces, get the A/V cables. If it has one that looks like you'd screw something onto it, use the RF cables. There isn't much of a difference. The only time the type of cable really comes into play is when you have an HDTV and a game that supports progressive scan.

The A/V cables are more convient, though. You can leave it on, doing something, or if you don't have a memory card, and turn "video" off and watch TV like normal. :D

You do. Considerable quality...at least on my TV. I even run my NES with some AV cables because it is so bad.
If I were you I would go with some component video but that is probably way too far....or something.
