I just noticed Leeza closed my thread on "dry sex". And it made me think, maybe some people like to ask for opinions about such related topics, and maybe even help about things sexual related?

Just a suggestion though, but maybe there should be a sexual related forum, but ofcoarse it would have it's limits (no porn and such) and warnings... just a suggestion though... :)

If people have genuine sexual concerns, then they should be able to discuss them in an open, honest and mature manner here. It's an important and difficult topic for many. Perhaps a sub-forum within 'Eyes on Each Other', with an appropriate content warning would be good?

People who just want to talk dirty would make this difficult to operate, but with the appropriate amount of maturity, self-restraint and moderator vigilance, it could work. I'm all for it.

I'm not saying this to anyone in particular, but when it comes down to it, you either accept the rules or you don't. And if you don't- get going. There should be no talking in detail about sexual stuff. EoFF isn't the place.

No matter how you look at it, we still have 11 year olds here and who knows how many coppa violators and lurkers that are even younger.

I'm not saying don't talk about it. Lord knows I was curious all through my life about sexual stuff. But don't talk about it here. End of story.

heh yeah i guess, but isnt there anyway to have say accounts that have their age over 15 or something allowed access?? and yeah, no dirty talk, just advice and stuff... meh ah well... it was just a suggestions...

If you really want to talk about such matters, then perhaps you should PM someone you know and trust, and ask them if they'd be willing to listen. If they want to help, problem solved... I think. Not sure about the rules in that regard.

Even better, talk to someone in real life. The benefit of limited anonymity is gone, but it's still useful.

Still, I think 'Kishi's post says it all. There are just too many risks associated with allowing sexually themed discussions on an open, public MB.

Yeah, i guess you're right, well I do talk to ppl about it that i know... anyways just a suggestion

Well, it looks like the general rule here is that you can discuss most things, as long as you're not being perverse, gratuitous or explicit. After all, there have been anatomically detailed discussions of sexually transmitted illnesses, which is permissible - it's a big issue, life-changing even. It's when people start talking about fetishes, orgies and the like that things deteriorate to a 'bannable' level.

Well, we talk here about many other things than Final Fantasy. We don't go to music forums to talk about music, if needed. We do it at lounge AND there is a lounge because this is community.

My own opinion is, that it wouldn't be the end of the World if some not too detailed sex talk was allowed. As for Mojo Pin's thread, my own opinion is that if you say something about rubbing your bodies with clothes on ( the dry sex thing) isn't too bad. But then again, I have no clue how those kids take it. And I have pretty perverted mind anyways. Damn kids, go away.=D

My other point is, that there's kinda many contradictories in EoFF's rules sometimes. Some pretty obscene stuff and threads seems to be allowed ( like talk in that EoFF Bicycle thread), and then I make a joke thread about Rainecloud's arse which is not allowed.:O *bitter as hell* DAMMIT.>_< It wasn't bad at all.=\

If you want to talk about sex then go to a sex-related message board. www.scarleteen.com might be the place for you, but, no matter how much I wish Yuna and Tidus would just get down, sex and Final Fantasy don't mix. If people want to have "a place" to talk maturely about sex, then there are other message boards just for that. We have to draw a line somewhere.

we should have an 18+ forum here.

I think the Rainecloud's ass thing was much more graphic and disturbing than the Eyeson Bicycle thing. They were both in good fun, but when you start talking about specific parts of a member's body and calling them red and pimpled or whatever, um... gross. Sorry Mik. Personally, I like the no sex talk allowed rule.

I also don't really care whether there's sex talk allowed or not, so don't take me wrong, I'm not demanding sex talk here or anything.:p

It was just my opinion about little contradictions and such. My opinion was that the discussion about Rainecloud's arse wasn't that disturbing compared to many other things, just good fun. But then again it's MIK's opinion. And I happen to be very disturbing and gross person at the times, so bare with me.=)

Correction. You WANT to draw the line somewhere. You don't have to.

Anyways for an FF message board like you claim a lot of the stuff talked about in General Chat and stuff just don't mix. We all know FF and ummm...elections go together. YEAY!

My personal opinion is that it is way too easy to go and find someplace where you can talk about sex, whether it be maturely or crudely, and it's nice to be able to come someplace where you don't have to be subjected to it at every turn. And yes, ed, I guess maybe we do want to draw the line.

Who cares if they're more mature? They're still too young to have or know anything about sex.

I think the important thing to remember is we have a rule against it right now, and we should never ever change any rules. *...is serious* Also, ed disagrees with it, so it has to be a good rule. I rest my case.

Maybe if they live in a cave or something. I think the person is sheltered if that is true. I learned all about sex ed and what not when I was 10...in SCHOOL.

I think people here are just naive or don't want to admit to something.

Shlup

I think it's good for kids to not be too sheltered from learning about sex, but you know that if there was an 18+ forum that topics would go into things that a lot of us didn't learn until we were older. I sure as hell didn't know what dry sex was until high school.

Of couse, if a member were to make a seperate message board for the older EoFF members I couldn't object. :o

i could certainly live without dry sex discussions, but I'm with ed.

I would like to make obscenity-adult EoFF ( affliciate =p) board, only if I could. I agree, that kids who wants to "see" sex and discussion about it, they can find it anywhere around the web unless the've seen it already. We watched porn movies in elementary school age.=) So if these 'kids' wouldn't want to see stuff like that, then don't click on thread that says 'sex' or something like that.

By this statement I didn't give any viewpoint at all however, and I also can live without sex discussion here. I like EoFF as how it is.
Just a question: Would thread " Your best sexual experience?" be allowed if it wouldn't go too much in the details and 'bad' words in admins/mods opinions?

Rostum
04-28-2003, 12:30 PM
Well I must agree, now that I look at it, that there probably shouldn't be anything like that. I mean I know you could do a seperate forum... But oh well.

I've noticed there's alot of "relationship" type threads, what if there was a subsection in EoY about relationships?

The reason i just thought about that sexual related thing was because, me being 16 and all, I'm going through things that I haven't done before and it's really weird for me... But yeah oh well. :)

I say we all start being elitist bastards and create a forum only for the people that the staff like, and we can talk about anything there. And it'll add on to our post counts. And the more posts you get, the better a person you are. And we can all get PM's saying "Can I have access to the Elite Forum?" and we can say "No, you suck, you're not worthy." and they can cry.

No, really. We can even conspire against all the sucky unworthy members. And when I say sucky unworthy members, they know who they are. Because they're sucky. And unworthy.

Yeah, that's right. Eltists are better than you.
