i cant continue my game to the 2nd cd
i've completed the 1st and after i'd defeated the sorceress i saved my game and now i've got asked to insert the disk 2.
i bought 3disk of ff8: 1st - install disk, 2nd - includes 1 and 2 gameplay disks, and 3rd - includes 3 and 4 gameplay disks.
in the first gameplay cd i have disk1 and disk2 files and disk1.pak and disk2.pak files. i don't know what to do, so i'm asking the big help for you...

Hold on. The Playstation version of FFVIII is on four discs, so you need to save your game and change discs three times.

But if you're using a PC version that has the game on two discs, you should only have to save and change discs once, unless they left in the other two messages.

I guess I'm wondering did you get to the end of the entire first game disc (that has the same as PS discs 1 and 2) or are you halfway through it?

i've completed only one half ot the first CD, and when i saved the game, i was asked to insert the 2nd disk...(which is in the same CD as the 1st disk)

i've added the screenshot of the 1st CD if u need the second i'll add it too

thanx very much 4 your help, because i've been searching for help for almost a month...

Try this: when it prompts you to change discs, take out the first disc then put it back in again.

try burning the gamepak2 (disc 2) onto a blank cd and using that

I suspect the second disc will ask you to switch to disc 4 halfway through. It sounds like whoever made these discs left in the prompt messages to switch discs. It would have been better to release it on 4 game discs than 2 because the game expects to switch 3 times. I suspect the only wasy to fit it onto two discs is to edit the game itself so it switches automatically between information from disc 1/2 and 3/4.

I know you can edit most aspects of a game using Gameshark, but I'm not sure they make it for PCs.

I'm sorry, I know nothing about programming. Did you get a commercial release of FFVIII? Or is custom burned?

the game isn't custom burned or maybe it is... but every cd has a nice picture on top side, so it's original i think...

It looks like you got a bootleg copy of the game. A lot of pirated software can look like they are real copies, with printed CD's and everything.

They don't all work though, and many things are left out such as music, FMV's, etc. to save space on the disk (that's why they could fit it on so few CD's. The actual PC version is 5 cd's). In fact, you are probably better off downlaoding games off of Kazaa than buying bootleg copies.

you could try minimizing the game at the switch disk point and opening the second game pak file
